It's clear she was doing a Maxim style shoot, and the photographer got a couple frames where the vest was blowing in the wind or unintentionally moved out of position. It was not ethical for him to release them, although it may be legal if she signed the standard release and didn't stipulate any exclusions. The shot where she's topless with her arms over her chest is also a pretty standard glamour pose and would not be considered nudity.

As a photographer, I'm tired of the puritanical attitudes regarding nudity... granted, we're usually pointing out hypocrisy of so called "Christian values" types, but it still bugs me that posing for nude photos (or taking them) somehow discredits a person's entirety.

a photographer and I have to disagree. First, no one is discrediting nudity, she lied about the photos and knew they were being taken, fill flash, beauty (gold) reflector? I've shot far too many models who would have checked the vest before the shot, she know the shot was coming. This is NOT about nudity, this is about being caught lying and being a hate-monger.

No, these were obviously from a photo shoot, not some telephoto paparazzi shots of her on a European beach. Shooting into the sun, wind blowing on the beach, an accident was inevitable... and maybe he was hoping to get a peek so didn't speak up. Double-sided tape would have looked bad, so she figured she could keep herself covered. I don't think she was aware that he got the accidental "exposures", or perhaps he "assured" her that they would be deleted. Some models would have worn pasties or black tape or something, but she didn't. It happens. Good guys delete them if they were accidents. Creeps publish them.

Again, I'm not defending anything else about her, but I do believe the shots were taken and released without her consent, probably without her knowledge. This is similar to when some actress wears a slinky dress to the Oscars and a nipple peeks out... the risk is obvious, but the exposure is not deliberate.

And yes, people try to say that she "posed nude" so therefore she can't be as "true" a Christian as she claims to be, and therefore must be a giant hypocrite. I was responding to the poster who said "she already posed nude once. Now she's all pure and stuff?" -- she did not pose nude. (Dr Laura Shitslinger posed nude. NSFW link) And even if Carrie HAD, I still feel that doesn't discredit a person or make them impure in itself.

She's a giant hate filled hypocrite for many other reasons (love thy neighbor, f'rinstance), but NOT because of those photos.
