'Porn & Pancakes' fights X-rated addictions

MORTON, Illinois (CNN) -- At 8 o'clock on a recent Saturday morning, more than 250 men gathered at New Life Christian Church in Morton, Illinois, for a breakfast of porn and pancakes.

The event, not as titillating as it sounds, is the brainchild of Craig Gross, founder of the online Christian ministry, XXXChurch.com. Gross concocted the idea of "Porn & Pancakes" as a way to get Christians and church officials to talk about pornography addiction.

It's a problem, he said, that is growing, among Christian communities.

Over the smell of maple syrup and sausage, Gross and other guest speakers -- including a former producer of pornography -- talk to the men about how pornography negatively affects their lives, including relationships with their families and with God. The men who come to hear them speak want to make sure they don't develop a problem themselves.

9. A little porn is fine, but an addiction would be bad if

a man did not go out to meet women - so that he could stay home to wack off. Also, a guy who watches too much porn probably has really bad game when he tries to meet women because..well he probably has no clue what really turns a woman on! Again, a little porn is ok...even watch it with your SO, but an addiction is bad.

I mean sure, if all mean harnessed the time and energy we use to masturbate we could use it for something constructive, like failing to pick up women down at the bar, or mowing the lawn, or curing cancer. But does it really matter if porn happens to be present at the moment? Isn't this just a bunch of losers inventing something called "porn addiction" and blaming it for something they really shouldn't be ashamed of in the first place.

The premise of "original sin" being carnal in nature coupled with the concept of a "virgin birth" and turning Mary Magdelene into a whore, has resulted in the virgin/whore schism and sexual deviance beyond belief.

Orientations that see sexuality as sacred don't have these sorts of issues and problems.

Porn may just be a by product Christian mythology.

20. Guilt is the real killer here not porn. The church can serve up guilt and pancakes any Sunday.

The guys need to get the hell out of church and spend the time in something life affirming IMHO.
