Whatever happened to "up or down vote"?
Sam Fox knew he did not have the votes to become an ambassador and he withdrew his nomination, however Bush gave him a recess appointment.

Andrew Biggs was rejected by the Senate to become deputy director of Social Security, but Bush gave him a recess appointment.

What's going on here is the Administration is clearly not letting the Senate "advise and consent".

3. What will Congress do about these appointments? It is a clear abuse
of power to use a recess appointment to put in someone whose name you pulled from contention because it had become clear his nomination would FAIL to pass in the Senate.

5. As bush has said "He is not going to let democrats tell him what to do"
Employees in the whitehouse, brave enough to say so, tell us that bush roams the halls of the whitehouse smashing his fist up against the wall yelling that he is not going to let those damn democrats tell him what to do.

6. I believe that scenario...we have all been saying for years that he is
nothing more than a spoiled little brat w/o a brain. People get ticked off al;l the time, but this little cretin thinks he is some sort of emperor...Caligula indeed, "Little Boots" fits this guy to a tee.

The REALLY scary part is that this imbecile on the package that could destroy a good portion of the life on this planet, I don't think he's either bright enough, or sane enough to have the kind of power he has. I hope Laura has a hammer handy if this wacko decides to "play w/the 'football'."

9. It was hot air when they were spouting it
and puffing out their chests with the "nuclear option" rhetoric. They didn't have the votes to pull that off and everybody knew it. If only the Democrats in the Senate had had the guts to stand up to that crap instead of folding like a card table, we wouldn't have a crank like Alito polluting the waters of the Supreme Court for the next 40 years.
