3. To at least some... the christian identity movement has elements of
right wing christianity, but a mega church is not necessarily part of the movement. Those tend to be smaller

4. The mega churches are into making money and buying influence. Terrorism
isn't profitable.

22. He is
a major critic and hater of Christianity. He basically hates Christianity because it was started by a Jew. This guy is most definitely not a fundie.

7. The object of terror is terror. Could we be in the opening phase of
guerrilla war?

9. First here is a link to how civil wars work in modern times
but the short answer... yes... the hot phase... we've been in a cold civil war for a generation or so. You can truly see it starting with the persecution of Clinton and the impeachment, that is when it became way too obvious

12. I worked in counter insurgency back in the late sixties.
The insurgency in Iraq is highly decentralized. al Qaeda decentralized when we put the heat on them. Read the Hydra Myth.

13. Ah then you have experience on this
Edited on Wed Jun-10-09 11:09 PM by nadinbrzezinski
I did, sort off... hydras died a while ago...

I think the first ones to get rid of the hydra was the Red Army in Italy... oh back in the 70s...

I usually tell people to read up on the IRA since it is well studied, and you could make the argument that they decentralized too in the mid 70s before the bombing campaign.

Some of the folks I knew at one time were them scary intel types, if you get me drift.

By the way for the next novel I am toying with the idea of having an insurgency that evolves from having a head to having none at all, and being highly decentralized.

15. The Yippies were a good example of an insurgency. You become a member
when you burn your membership card.

Read about the Eritrean People's Liberation Front. They were a classic insurgency. The short shorts and sandals was their uniform. The short shorts were to save cloth. Women played a big part in the liberation of Eritrea.

16. How could I forget about movements in Africa
you are right.

The FMLN (El Salvador) was a combo of a headless organization and one with a head.

The contras were highly hierarchical

11. Cell operations in insurgency movements are very effective
I could recommend some history, but you may want to read on the best studied cell insurgency in modern times, the IRA.
