How to save Von Brunn's comments on the hate sites
Even as you read this, the administrators at FR and other hate sites are busy scrubbing Von Brunn's very existance from the Internet. If you want to foil them, one good way is by making an Adobe PDF of the offending webpage.

I use "cutePDF", a program which installs on your PC as a printer. You use it like a regular HP or Epson printer, except that when you hit "print", it generates an Adobe PDF file instead of hardcopy. The Adobe PDF includes the entire webpage, including date/time stamp and URL, just like printing on paper.

Here's a link:
http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/Writer.asp

I also use it for proof of making online payments, travel arrangments, etc. It's more secure than a screenshot (harder to edit) and gets the entire webpage, not just what's visible on the screen.

Anyway, once made into a PDF you can copy-and-paste the content into emails, web postings, etc., and grab pictures from the PDF using screen capture.

This is the kind of record that we need to be able to preserve and talk about, send to our elected representatives, etc.

Just a PSA. If you like it, kick it.

1. Google has archives, and so does wayback machines
So whatever Rimjob attempts to scrub him off FR is going to fail.

Epic Fail.

4. Snagit is even better
takes a screenshot of the whole page and you can save it with links intact.

5. depending on your browser, you can also save a "web archive" that retains all the coding
and timestamp info, etc.

7. What we really need is a bot to crawl through their sites and automate this process...
So that it looks for each page that he's mentioned on and then launches a script to create the PDF or html page when it finds it. I don't have time to do this, but I'm hoping someone who's already done this sort of thing for other occasions is keeping "busy" now with this! Might be useful to have as evidence later.

I'm sure there might be some intelligence it needs to spoof browsers more intelligently to bypass some of the freepers' defenses for this sort of thing, but it should be doable.

9. I agree, but we should follow the same policy...
We don't have anything to hide. Locking and deleting posts that make us look bad undermines the whole "underground" idea. Remember the posts about the bombing in the middle east being related to the tsunami?... You better, cause you won't find them on here anywhere anymore...

10. If you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat (not free) you can do "web capture"
under the "Advanced" menu option and this enables saving not only the page but the sublinks as many layers deep as you desire as well.
