Here's what Bushite Republican senator Orrin Hatch said about Carol Lam, who, again, was appointed by President Bush in 2002:

She's a former law professor; no prosecutorial experience; and the former campaign manager in Southern California for Clinton.

Tuesday she checked with Carol Lam's people, who said that not only had she had nothing to do with the Clinton campaign, Hatch was also, um, misspeaking, when he said she was a former law professor with no prosecutorial experience - she had 15 years worth of experience, though she'd never been a law professor.

I trust that as journalists dedicated to truth, you will address these misstatements on your next show."

48. The bigger question now for Hatch

Where has Hatch been getting his information on the whole US Attorney scandal? Right wing slander sheets like the National Review? What about Hatch's staff? Did they even give him a clue about why Carol Lam was or wasn't fired? Hatch must have had no idea if he didn't even know the basics about Lam. How can Hatch pretend to be an authority on the attorney firings in the future?

Hatch's reckless accusations have come from right wing propaganda sources before. If Hatch get the nomination for Attorney General, he should be asked at length how he goes about collecting information and how he's come to such crazy conclusions.
