Republican spokesperson Ann Coulter complains that Darfur killers "still haven't finished"
Just when you thought that the Republican Party's star pundit could not sink any lower we get this:

Saddam's barbaric rape rooms, chemical attacks and torture — those, liberals could live with. But now they want us to send troops to Darfur, a country from which no one anticipates terrorism anytime in the next millennium. If you're looking for a good definition of "no imminent threat," Darfur is it. The climate change "emergency," set to start taking effect sometime during the next century, is a more imminent threat to the United States than Darfur.

These people can't even wrap up genocide. We've been hearing about this slaughter in Darfur forever — and they still haven't finished.

My god, there are so many things wrong with this statement it is hard to even know where to begin. But Ann Coulter is the face and voice of the Republican Party, and in order to understand them we need to look at what level of sanity she is coming from so we will take this one piece at a time.

Saddam's barbaric rape rooms, chemical attacks and torture — those, liberals could live with.

So Ann Coulter wants to bring up the chemical weapons again, the same chemical weapons of course that were supplied to Saddam by her hero Ronald Reagan. Of course Ann Coulter conveniently ignores this fact along with the other obvious fact, that is the fact that Saddam no longer had chemical weapons at the time of the invasion.

As far as rape rooms and torture chambers go they are still up and running in Iraq, they are simply under new management. Ann Coulter should know this as she has been an active cheerleader for this regime's use of torture.

So apparantly Ann Coulter is for torture when the US is involved, but thinks we are justified in going to war when other people are torturing the same people that she thinks we should be torturing.

But to make Coulter's statement even dumber she follows it up with this:

But now they want us to send troops to Darfur, a country from which no one anticipates terrorism anytime in the next millennium. If you're looking for a good definition of "no imminent threat," Darfur is it. The climate change "emergency," set to start taking effect sometime during the next century, is a more imminent threat to the United States than Darfur.

Does she not see the irony of in one breath trying to take the moral high ground justifying war in Iraq because of torture chambers, and in the very next breath saying that there is no imminent threat in Darfur where a genocide is taking place? As we can see though consistancy is not one of Coulter's strong points (and don't ask me what her strong points are because I could not tell you).

Being inconsistant is one thing however, and being downright vile is a whole 'nother story. It is with Coulter's next statement that she really shows just how disgusting she is:

These people can't even wrap up genocide. We've been hearing about this slaughter in Darfur forever — and they still haven't finished.

I shouldn't even need to comment on how absolutely disgusting this statement is as it speaks for itself very loudly, but unfortunately Coulter is not finished yet:

If you want a shorter rebuilding process, then we're going to have to wage less humane wars. The enemy — as well as innocent civilians — must be bombed into quivering terror. Otherwise, we displace aggression but don't destroy it.

This is the voice of the Republican Party saying this. This is the "person" that they love to watch on FOX News and to invite to speak at all the big GOP gatherings. This is the "person" that they have chosen to represent them on television. Make no mistake about it Ann Coulter is the voice of the Republican Party and that voice is complaining that a genocide is not moving fast enough. That voice is encouraging terrorism against innocent civilians.

That is the Republican Party message, can we call these people fascists yet?

Every time I read something Coultergeist said or wrote, my eyes start to hurt. Every time I see a picture of her, I get a little sick to my stomach. Whenever I hear her grating voice saying something beyond reason or excuse, I die a little inside.

This disgusting excuse for a human needs to be deposited in the Sahara with no water and no food -- even the vultures would rend screams of dismay as they high-tailed it away from her.

5. On top of everything else
Darfur is actually something conservative Christians have been bring to the fore. Clearly liberals have also been bringing this up but it is conservative Christians, such as Brownback, who have been consistently bringing this issue up.

She is a monster with no soul. I have no doubt about it. If that's the "voice of the RNC" then they are screwed indeed.

7. Who could have made this statement?
"The enemy — as well as innocent civilians — must be bombed into quivering terror."

Hitler?
Stalin?
Bin Laden?
PolPot?
Coulter?

The answer is "yes" to all of the above.

So, Republicans are in favor of genocide (as long as it is against dark-skinned folks), they are for terrorism (as long as it serves their purposes), and they have Ann Coulter to spread their gospel of hate, death, and contempt for human life. We need to make commercials showing all of these kinds of statements by Coulter and labeling them as from the main REpublican spokesperson. We should start airing them now and not stop until November '08...

I'm sure that he will have some explanation for how when his former fucking partner said "The enemy — as well as innocent civilians — must be bombed into quivering terror" there is really some other interpretation of 'innocent civilians' and 'bombed into quivering terror' than advocating outright crimes against humanity through the deliberate slaughter of civilians.

I haven't heard anyone suggest that as a solution to the problem, once again she's lying through her teeth. And the Iraq war was never about Saddam's human rights abuses.

11. On top of everything else, she has this wrong, too.
"...Darfur, a country from which no one anticipates terrorism anytime in the next millennium..."

Broken states spawn terrorists. If, and when, the current terror there ends there will be thousands of fighters who have become inured, even addicted, to that sort of violence, and they will be sought after by terrorist recruiters. They will be showing up in hot spots across North Africa and the Middle East. I promise.

factually-unencumbered mouth and non-functioning brain on TV as much as possible, as long as they IDENTIFY her as a rePiglican mouthpiece.

Pretty hard to miss, in any event...and she's giving filth a bad name, as only she can do. The more she opens her yap, the worse the rePiglicans look. And the more they give her the opportunity to open her yap, the worse the media look. And the sheeple are awakening.

hardly anyone taking her seriously. When was the last time any rightwinger with real power or influence asked her opinion?

So she's got a few fans who giggle at her "wisdom" but her real job is just to piss us off and have us wasting our time in constant outrage. Which she seems to be doing quite well.

She also gets invited to speak at many of the biggest GOP Gatherings. Yes, she is their star pundit and we should not try to deny that. If this is who the Republicans want to endorse then we need to hang her around their neck.

27. Hey, the truth is she cracks me up sometimes...
with her bullshit. Her point is to be outrageous, and I kinda like outrageous.

But, it's not punditry, it's a routine. Like Andrew Dice Clay, who also got some interesting guest spots before he was shut down.

Again, the more we are outraged, the more she'll get asked to speak just to see how pissed of we can get. It's a game we don't have to play.

the enemy and innocent civilians here. Its the old "we must kill you to save you from yourself" argument which is definitely the Nazi's argument they were saving the Jews from themselves! I no longer doubt she is a memeber of a white supremecist group somewhere. Thats all she is, a skinhead with hair and better press.

every time you post your outrage at the latest pile of shit that excretes from the anus which substitutes for a mouth on that bitch just continues to encourage more of the same. I really believes she trolls DU to see the reactions she gets. If we ignore her it would be a move in the right direction.

Also, I truly believe that the American peoples' patience and self-absorption is not unlimited. Give her enough rope and she will either hang herself or our fellow Americans will do it for her.

Just ignoring her won't make her go away, she will still get her spots on the talkshows. We need to expose her to all Americans so they can see just how repulsive she is, and then let them know just how popular she is among Republicans. If anyone can scare people away from the Republican Party she can.

The answer is pretty obvious but perhaps her head would finally fly off from the force of all the spin that would have to be used to justify our inaction from that time.
