Dick Cheney, Halliburton and a freeper
To all,

I am in the middle of an argument with a freeper regarding Dick Cheney and his ties to Halliburton. I have searched the web, but have not really found anything to bury this guy.

If anyone has any links or articles regarding no bid contracts and Cheney's ties to Halliburton, I would appreciate it.

Gracias...

1. Sorry, I don't have anything on that, but...
I definitely thought your message was going to be a joke - "Dick Cheney, Halliburton, and a freeper walk into a bar..." or something like that. :silly:

5. Dick Cheney IS Halliburton
He used to be the CEO, and still has stock options that grow astronomically with every no-bid contract.

He's the poster boy for crony capitalism and war profiteering.

Here's a google search worth about 1,260,000 hits:

10. Period. Canuckistanian nailed it.
And my sweet dog Sirius used to poop regularly on Dick's front lawn on Euclid Avenue in Highland Park. I trained him to do it. Cheney lived eight blocks from me in Dallas.

Sweet Sirius, canine scatology tormentor of Dick Cheney.

9. Freepers are impervious to facts that threaten their dream world
but here are a few:

Cheney's ties to Halliburton: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/09/26/politics/main575356.shtml

How far his stock options have risen: http://www.thehindsightfactor.com/cheneys_halliburton_stock_up_3_281
Unfortunately, this story is appearing at what freepers will consider fringe sites like hindsight, Raw Story, and (ugh) Rense.

Cheney's "deferred compensation," AKA salary: http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,912515,00.html

All this stuff is old news. Even Newsmax was critical back in 2001, but they have since fallen into line.

Google Cheney Katrina for favoritism in post Katrina rebuilding contracts.

Google no bid contracts for the size of the problem.

19. He will likely deny an evidence you give him.
Edited on Wed Apr-04-07 11:07 PM by Swamp Rat
When he does (I bet you he will), ask him why the HELL he is not in Iraq fighting right now... and NO EXCUSES!

20. He always denies any evidence I give him. However, he retired
from the Navy after 20 years of service so the "fighting in Iraq" won't work with him.

I don't know why I bother arguing with him -- he doesn't want to believe anything that doesn't go along with his skewed view of the world.

21. How can Cheney's Halliburton connection be unclear?
He's an ex-CEO. He's obviously got allegiance to the company. There's no question. What else is he arguing? That Peace=War? He doesn't seriously think we're there for anything but the oil does he? Why aren't we doing anything about the Dafur genocide then? There are a variety of ways to approach this.

22. Their chosen-ones sending our kids to die in the desert so they can
steal their oil to get richer is a heroic "venture" for these Repulsive fascreeps.

They even claim History will prove them right!

I'd bet a grand they never read Mein Kamf...

23. I mentioned that we were there for the oil and he went ballistic!
"How dare you accuse our government of starting a war for oil! blah, blah, blah..."

You should hear him bellow when I tell him that Bush uses the Constitution to wipe his ass! That always gets him riled up.

25. Oh, so he's a 'repug noise unit'.
The more truths you discuss openly, the louder the repug noise unit gets.

"Dick Cheney worked for Halliburton..." durp!

"Halliburton and its associates got no bid contracts to rebuild just about everything in Iraq after everything was blown up, and also 'disappeared' billions of dollars." durp! durp! Durp!!

"Cheney made millions of dollars with Halliburton and continues do do so." DURP! DURP! DURP!

"Cheney outed CIA agent Valerie Plame during a 'time of war' and is therefore a traitor." DURP!! DURP!! DURP!! DURP!! DURP!! DURP!!
