NBC's Inside Iran. Did they mention the 1953 coup?
It was a pretty even handed and level-headed production.(Surprise!) But I missed the first ten minutes or so. As I tuned in I caught a vague and oddly-worded reference to the US gov't helping to supply Iraq with chemical weapons with which to kill Iranians in the 1980's. But I'm wondering if it mentioned the role our gov't played in overthrowing the Iranian democracy in 1953.

Of particular interest to me 'cause Obama acknowledged same this week in Cairo; first POTUS to do so. I'm wondering if the corporate media will now let the general public in on this dirty little secret... now that Obama's let the cat out of the bag, so to speak.

Or will they continue to play dumb?

1. No.
I watched it, and it was very eye-opening. Not much of the past was brought up, more the present and future. I learned lots I didn't know about Iran.

2. That's too bad. One really can't understand Iran...
... unless one understands the coup. I was hoping Barack shattered the taboo.

I agree that the program was otherwise highly informative.

3. To reduce the history of Iran to a few minutes wouldn't have done it justice, so I don't
think it was too bad.

4. NBC News where they talked to the correspondent
did mention the coup and CIA being responsible. They also mentioned the anger Iran had to the U.S. for backing of Saddam including use of chemical weapons which of course killed many of their soldiers and that nearly every Iranian had family in that war.
