It's marked "original post" in the upper-right but it's a reply to some other post...and also sometimes a post shows up with no number. I guess I should ask the Admins but I wanted to see if it's only affecting those I'm seeing...

1. I've seen that happen a few times
myself - could it be that the planets aligned just right and the poster posted the exact same time as another poster? Stranger things.....

2. It probably is a timing thing...I don't know enough about how this place works
to say. It just strikes me as odd when it happens. :-)

3. As far as I can tell, it is a recent development.
I have been left scratching my head about that,as well (or mybe it's the lice).

Maybe you should alert the Admin before it gets any worse.

5. Actually, I've noticed it infrequently for a couple of years.
But it's not a big problem and I don't wanna make a mountain out of a molehill. :D

8. I have noticed that - and think it is a timing thing
when posts are posted at the same time (maybe to the second?)

4. If two people post at the same time this can happen
Check the time stamp and see if that's the issue.

7. once...
Sydnie, KitchenWitch and I all got Tombstoned when we posted at the same time in the same thread!

Once we got it all straightened out with the mods, we decided it was pretty cool. :)

9. I had an auto tombstone as well....
within the first days of the upgrades for auto bannings - I went outside into the cold to smoke and cameback to post before I took off my coat - and the sleeve of the winter coat rested on the return button (I didn't realize it til later) so that when I hit post - the sleeve 'told the computer to keep sending the post'. Autoban program read it as an attempt to spam a forum with rapid speed posts and I was locked out for the night. Was sorted out in the am with an apology from me to the admin (didn't realize it had happened) and from them to me (an unintended consequence of the programing). Sorted out so quickly that no harm no foul - but at least one DU friend saw the (6 hour or so) tombstone and was a little shocked and sent a note of concern to the admin (told to me by this DUer later - when I told the story of my "tombstoning").

This is the first time I have read of someone else getting caught in a similar autoban (programming issue rather than a person ((mod or admin)) taking action) ... sorta freaky when it first happens, eh? For me it was late enough in the evening that it couldn't be corrected until the am so for a few minutes (before I decided to chill and wait) - it was really frustrating.
