A Challenge to Lurking Freepers
Edited on Sat Jun-06-09 03:10 PM by Chichiri
The combination of Mythsaje's recent (re)post and the murder of Dr. Tiller has made me think about the internal consistency of the conservative Republican position. If you hold such a position, I would like for you to please provide me with a definition of the word "person" that the following three entities, all of which your position defines as a person, can be so defined:

1. Yourself.

2. A day-old zygote.

3. A transnational corporation.

1. Are there any data on how many anti-choice people support corporate personhood?
The ones I know are as against it as I am. Don't mix up the different wings of the GOP.

2. IMO you omitted a key question, whether one believes a person has a soul, i.e. does someone believe
Edited on Sat Jun-06-09 03:59 PM by jody
some part of them self, a supernatural entity, survives the death and decay of her/his body.

Those who believe a soul survives the body can argue when that soul first exists but IMO the question cannot be answered by science but can be wrangled over by philosophers and theologians.

For those who do not believe a soul ever exists, they can fight over the morality of killing a human beginning with how many cells does it take to make a human?

I see no compromise position on abortion between the two groups and expect little compromise within the two groups.

ON EDIT ADD:
I don't believe a unicellular zygote is a human being not do I believe an acorn is an oak tree.
