Bush to Congress; "SFU!"
I'm the fucking President! I'll do what I want when I want. I'll appoint whoever the fuck I want, when I want and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. Just shut the fuck up and do what I tell you. It's what I call compromise assholes!"

3. Right -- "Advise and consent" is so 18th century . . .

But this paints Bush more firmly into the corner than ever before. These appointments show desperation, not resolve. He's beginning to look positively Nixonian. I wonder if, about two months from now, these appointments will be seen as the beginning of his breakdown and eventual removal from office for incapacity.

4. That's the truth, but corporate media may stay in image protection mode for Bush?
It seems every time Bush makes a move like this, they hail him as sticking to his guns or outsmarting the Democrats, instead of calling him out as the petulant dictator stomping his foot.

5. Six months ago, maybe . . .
But those stories have all begun to ring hollow now, and I detect a different tone in the media.

Frankly, I think they have sniffed out a lame animal and are gathering the pack's courage to bring it down.
