An observation on the Franken/Coleman hearing yesterday
I flipped to C-span 2 sometime yesterday evening and caught a good bit of the Franken/Coleman hearing. I heard most of Franken's lawyer's argument and all of Coleman's. Not being any more than an interested viewer with no real legal knowledge of law but a strong appreciation for good argument I have to tell you, Franken's lawyer really impressed me and Coleman's really didn't. The contrast in the two men's immediate recollection of pertinent fact and its presentation to the Judges was more than apparent - it just about slapped you in the face. It sure looked to me like when it came to lawyer hiring time Al got his money's worth to about the same degree that Norm did not.

1. May not be Norm's attorney. It may be that Norm is bereft of sufficient, persuasive
facts and law. Clarence Darrow wouldn't be able to win without some viable evidence and trial testimony.

2. Coleman's lawyers know he doesn't have a case.
They know that he's going to lose all the way to the USSC. Their perfectly fine with making a trumped up, half-assed argument and collecting their fee. Its easy work.

3. All Coleman and his lawyers are doing is stalling the inevitable
They are dragging this out as far as they can.
