First Ted Olson, now The Dick come out in favor gay marriage.

Context: Nooz clip of The Dick at his NPC presser the other day, shown on MSNBC

1. It was my impression...

... that Cheney was pulling the old "states' rights" move on this issue. A common GOP tactic when they are out of power federally. Remember all the states' rights talk from the RW during the Clinton years, and then nary a peep from them during W's presidency?

2. Don't be fooled
They are just trying to play dead until 2010 and 2012. Do not forget that the strength of our enemy is that they are based in deep seated FEAR and GREED that we are just beginning to confront. They know that we on the left are very, very good at infighting; they read DU as much as we do, and they LOL when they see us fight.

In 2012, they will either play two angles: they will either go for all the Jaizuz freeks and push Palin/Huckabee or, more likely, they will offer someone up who does not SOUND scary, perhaps a Romney, or a Charlie Crist. Crist is someone who can say "hey, the left hates me, the Bushes hate me, and you all know I am a closet Homosexual that just married some rich girl so we would look respectable." He will play the lowest cards in the deck, lying to everyone, because he is a very good liar.

To quote Lovecraft "That is not dead which can Eternal Lie."

3. I still find Ted Olsen's move HIGHLY suspect
And don't trust him as far as I could shove him out of my way out of the Supreme Court.

4. I wish people would not refer to the "Ted Olson and David Boies Gay Marriage Suit"
Gives me the heebie jeebies. One account even referred to them as a "power couple". Please! Spare the children.
