Bellevue doctor to speak about killing of abortion colleague

Dr. LeRoy Carhart, a Bellevue abortion provider, is planning to talk about Sunday's killing of a Wichita abortion doctor who was controversial for performing late-term abortions.

Carhart has scheduled a 1:30 p.m. press conference today.

Carhart has said he planned to run Dr. George Tiller's clinic for at least a week.

Carhart, who called himself a close friend of Tiller, has said neither Tiller's clinic nor his own would close because of the killing.
