The TV news was mostly about GM today. I can't believe there wouldn't have been a statement about such a tragedy, considering how polarizing an act it was.

1. I Doubt It. Too Controversial....
this whole issue of the A Word. Would it have been nice for someone from the govt to CONDEMN THIS ACT OF DOMESTIC TERRORISM? Yes. But I don't expect to hear anything.

5. Wrong! White House issued a statement yesterday
but i must give you credit for being so sure of yourself! :eyes:

Statement from Attorney General Holder ...

"The murder of Doctor George Tiller is an abhorrent act of violence, and his family is in our thoughts and prayers at this tragic moment. Federal law enforcement is coordinating with local law enforcement officials in Kansas on the investigation of this crime, and I have directed the United States Marshals Service to offer protection to other appropriate people and facilities around the nation. The Department of Justice will work to bring the perpetrator of this crime to justice. As a precautionary measure, we will also take appropriate steps to help prevent any related acts of violence from occurring."

8. AG Holder is DOJ, not the White House. The gist of the question was whether or not Obama had issued
a statement. Don't try to pass off a statement by the AG as one issued by the White House.

THE WHITE HOUSE

Office of the Press Secretary

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 31, 2009

STATEMENT FROM THE PRESIDENT ON THE MURDER OF DR. GEORGE TILLER

I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.

18. Or...pimple faced teenagers running MSM websites
(excuse me, "webmasters", "web designers" whatever) just didn't give a sh*t about this issue and it got buried into a teensy corner while GM (General Motors) got most of the attention. I am busy and don't have the time to scroll through junks just to see some things. Hell, I don't even get to log in here to D.U. every day.

10. Two sentences? How about a paragraph?
Is the sky blue? I kind of wonder what your answer would be. :eyes:

statement was on the board yesterday by the POTUS, and who could have ever guessed that it wouldn't quite measure up for you? You're so transparent, you don't even cast a shadow anymore.

before looking. Had he/she taken the time before commenting, they would have seen that this ground was covered yesterday. The Ted Rall wing of the party is alive & well, but thank goodness they're growing smaller & less significant with each passing day.

7. Now the right wing-nuts are whining that Obama needs to put out a statement
about the "Recruiting Office" shooting lest he be more empathetic for "Muslim faith" (perp in recruiting station) KILLER than the "Christian faith" one (perp in Tiller's execution). :eyes:

Right-wing is frothing at the mouth and as crazy as a shit house rat.
