Phill Kline comments on Tiller murder
Edited on Sun May-31-09 04:44 PM by Neecy
What a fucking hypocrite:

Former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline, who conducted an investigation into Tiller, said in a statement he was "stunned by this lawless and violent act which must be condemned and should be met with the full force of law. We join in lifting prayer that God's grace and presence rest with Dr. Tiller's family and friends."

http://www.kansas.com/news/breaking/story/833730.html

Kline conducted an absolute vendetta against Dr. Tiller - an obsessed, decades-long vendetta.

1. The collective role of the right wing politicians, media hacks
and their fucking loony sheeple is to promote hate and then all wash their hands when one of their followers murders someone.

Of course they'll deny it all and play victims.

2. Wasn't he roundly defeated in the election?
He ran that man into the ground and wanted to do everything he could to imprison him and the people saw through his antics and refused to convict twice, as I recall.

Fucking hypocrite, indeed. He's as much responsible for this as all the lunatics who egged on the prick who pulled the trigger.

And now a good, law-abiding man is dead because a group of religious zealots didn't like what he believed.

How does his murder differ from what happened to us on 9/11?

3. yes, defeated twice
First in the AG race, and again when he tried to run again as Johnson County DA (the same county, by the way, that I presume the killer lived in, based on his car registration).

Even Kansas Republicans were appalled that Kline obsessed over Dr. Tiller to the exclusion of almost any other law enforcement action, either state-wide or within the county. He actually lost in the primary for Johnson County DA last go-around - his own PARTY threw him out. That's how obsessed he was.

Well, nobody flew a holograph of an airplane into him and then set off shaped charges inside him...

OK, OK--I know I'm sick. Depraved, actually. What do you expect? I had a depraved childhood.

4. It was fine until the sanctimonious bit at the end
the fundie freaks seem to think they possess the power to bestow god's grace upon people.
Thinly veiled pomposity.

6. I do agree with what some of what he says though.

Violence is terrible, and the sadness of the friends and family creates such sorrow. I hope they can find comfort and strength in such a tragic moment. And may Tiller find the comfort and love of God and in the arms of angels, and rest in peace.

I also hope they continue to find peace in God's love, as they have in their lives, sharing love with their community and friends, both at church and in their lives.

I also agree that

Lawless and violent act should be met with the full force of law. With mercy and love for people, and justice and condemnation for the acts of violence done by people.

9. I do not know what he had said about Tiller.
Edited on Sun May-31-09 05:04 PM by RandomThoughts
So I was only looking at some of the words he said. Although I agree their is a possibility he parsed his comment, as one poster said, in a sanctimonious way.

Phil Kline himself is irrelevant to me, the sorrow of someone gunned down while at church is so sad, I was thinking on that.

Edit: Although when I think about Phil Kline, I wonder if he feels the same way about other violence done, wars, poverty, prejudice, claims of judgement, and other bad things we have seen.

12. Oh, in order to understand the utter hypocrisy
of that statement - the one that seems so kind and reasonable on its face - you need to check out Phil Kline and what he did to Dr. Tiller, and, ultimately, to his own career.

Hint: he was driven out of office, and even his own party - the Republicans - didn't want him.

You'll be surprised at what you read.....................

If it is what you say it is, I don't want to read about what Kline did.

17. Kline believed he could ride this lunatic hatred as a steed all the way to Washington.
He's been flapping around Kansas City on the Kansas side for years, pushing, shoving, trying to make life unbearable for more worthy people. He has had his ass handed to him, but not nearly soon enough. Too bad it didn't happen before he made life a living hell for Dr. Tiller.

Here's hoping Kline finally gets the hint civilized people don't have a thing in common with him, and he will NEVER be respected by too many in this part of the state. He's unprincipled, vicious, and defective.

No doubt whatsoever the suspect carefully watched all those years as A.G. Kline harrassed the Wichita doctor, scheming to seize his records, open all confidential files, claiming he wanted to make sure Tiller wasn't giving any underage girls abortions without parental notification or whatever that was. Jesus H. Christ.

11. That is what he says in public. In private? not so much.
Kline has to realize that he bears some responsibility for this.

19. Kline gave O'Reilly the the medical records of Dr. Tiller's patients and was Operation Rescue's
"Man of the Year" in 2006 (the same year he gave O'Reilly the records).

He and O'Reilly joined forces against Tiller.

I posted about this yesterday:
