Bush doesn't give a crap about the pork in the Iraq bill...
And we all know it. He only cares about the troop withdrawal part of the bill. Every spending bill in the history of the world has had pork in it. And until now, he's approved them. The only difference is the troop withdrawal provision. He's making a big deal of the pork in the bill to make the dems look fiscally irresponsible and try to take the focus off his refusal to sign a bill that gives him even more funds than he originally requested. He wants to put the blame on the democrats, and congress as a whole for this bill failing.

Too bad we're not buying it. Stop bullshitting, leave the pork alone, and focus on the withdrawal clause. Give us the real dirt for once, and don't hide behind some artificial garbage.

1. Just another talking point
Fortunately, few are listening anymore. Yet somehow, he believes the majority of Americans support the war. Hmmmmmmm.

2. Maybe they put some of this
'pork' in the bill so that they could use it for a compromise. He vetoes it, the dems send it back without the port and then the ball is in his court. He will have to pure and simply reject funding for the troops, they compromised.

4. It seems there's only one thing Bush cares about--picking a fight
When you think about it, that's all he's done at every opportunity.

Just as an example, take Pelosi's trip. He could take an opportunity to embrace Pelosi and say he looks forward to hearing a report from her upon her return. He could express appreciation for her bi-partisan efforts and gain the upper hand taking the credit (sort of like he did at SOTU by saying 'I get to make history with these words...Madam Speaker').

Instead, he chooses to criticise, threaten, and berate anyone who's not a Bush from Birth and Beyond Loyalist.

7. Did he ever complain about any pork in the legislation he signed?
Did he even issue a signing statement saying he wouldn't spend the money?

9. It is a shame we can't send every American a copy of the bill
Then they would see the pork...Health services for veterans, salaries for veterans, funding for schools, for Katrina, for equipment, ammo, transportation for the troops.

The pork he is talking about is a subsidary for the small business farmers, spinach, peanut and fresh fish. That is for food supply not bridges and railroads to nowhere, 1.5 million dollars to refurbish a statue of Vulcan. Now that's all pork. The time has passed that Americans take bush at his word. They don't believe a damn word he says and that is what rankles him.
