Brenda Lee, Reporter, Dragged Kicking And Screaming From Near Air Force One
Edited on Thu May-28-09 03:57 PM by Faygo Kid
Source: Huffington Post

The AP's Christina Hoag reports that Brenda Lee, a reporter for the Georgia Informer, was dragged kicking and screaming from the press area near Air Force One at Los Angeles International airport (LAX) Thursday morning.

"Airport security officers carried the woman away by the feet and arms as she protested her removal," Hoag writes.

The Georgia Informer describes itself as "a black newspaper for Georgia."

KTLA reports that Lee is a self-proclaimed "Roman Catholic priestess." Lee claims she was attempting to deliver President Obama a letter urging him "to take a stand for traditional marriage." . . .

(On edit: Apologies to those way too young to know who Brenda Lee was. Video included. Puppies, too.)

Let me be the first: There's only one thing for Brenda Lee to do, and that's to say, I'm Sorry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEMjeYPfqSg&feature=related

That, or go Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree.

*sigh*

6. "As Usual" But here's YouTube video of "I'm Sorry." Just before puberty. This song moved me.
Of course, the 16-year-old hot, hot neighbor blond who swang and swayed to it got this youngster fired up, as well.

When I'd go by to pick her up, I became quite adept at "talking her" to the car without incident...

edited for clarity...

4. What makes any idiot think they have a "right" to "hang around" AF1?
If she wants to "deliver a message" send the guy a postcard (postcards go through better than letter mail). Or an email.

I think Brenda needs a reality check and maybe a little professional help. She's got issues. The biggest issue is her delusion that she's an RC Priestess--I suspect old Popie ain't too thrilled with her self-imposed designation. He's not giving out the funny collar to the girls just yet. Why would she want to align herself with an outfit that does not welcome women and indeed, is quite hostile to them, in such dramatic fashion? And speaking of fashion, wearing a cassock? Come on.

Very curious, indeed.

12. I think she wanted it this way--now she is a martyr for the "traditional marriage" coalition--
Reminds me of the Catholic priests dragged away by police from their anti-abortion protests--it all creates good press.

18. KTLA: Self-Proclaimed 'Priestess' Forcibly Removed From Obama Press Area
Self-Proclaimed 'Priestess' Forcibly Removed From Obama Press Area

KTLA News
12:34 PM PDT, May 28, 2009

LOS ANGELES - A woman claiming to be a Roman Catholic priestess from Anaheim had to be physically removed from a press area near Air Force One at LAX this morning.

The woman was awaiting President Barak Obama's arrival at the airport for his departure from Los Angeles.

Exclusive KTLA video shows airport security officers carrying the woman away by the feet and arms as she protested her removal.

In a telephone interview with The Associated Press, Brenda Lee of the Georgia Informer said she wanted to hand Obama a letter urging him "to take a stand for traditional marriage."

She said she asked a Secret Service agent to give the president her letter, but he refused and referred her to a White House staffer.

Lee said she refused to give the staffer the letter.

Lee, who was wearing what she described as a cassock, said she protested when she was asked to leave.
