I mean.. the guy knows his stuff. He has serious chops and oozes gravitas.

Meanwhile, Mika Brzezinski makes George Bush look like Stephen Hawking.

How did she grow up in that household and not develop a sense of intellectual curiosity?

Sorry.. just venting. I think they keep her on that show to make Scarborough and Barnicle look smarter - which is extremely tough to do.

2. OVerly indulged
and don't worry your pretty little head about any of this politics stuff.

ZB is a very serious man, but it wouldn't surprise me if he were very old-fashioned about women and raised his family that way.

3. She gets paid to be dim-witted. She didn't use to be that way. You can't have the woman
smarter than the man on TV.

4. She's a narcissist.. Look at me... look at me.

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a personality disorder defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the diagnostic classification system used in the United States, as "a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and a lack of empathy." <1>

The narcissist is described as turning inward for gratification rather than depending on others, and as being excessively preoccupied with issues of personal adequacy, power, and prestige.<2> Narcissistic personality disorder is closely linked to self-centeredness. It is also colloquially referred to as "the god complex".

6. Brzezinski has a long history
of working with fascist elites to promote a global corporofascist agenda imho.

He worked for the council on foreign relations in the 1970's and the way I see it was put in place to keep carter in line by the rockefellers et al., where he achieved prominence as the "next" kissinger.

In a right wing anticommunistic procorporate elitist household it is not hard to see why he would spawn and train someone with little insight or perspective or experience in the real world.

7. Yes, the neocons base a lot of their agenda on his writings...
like "The Grand Chessboard" that influenced what they put on their site for "Project for a New American Century".

Now I think he's voiced a lot more intelligent view of the world than the PNAC crowd, but there are some aspects to his world view that still one should look at more closely before jumping on board to support him.

9. He's co-founder of the Trilateral Commission. It is sad, infuriating at
times how little people here at DU know about him and the powers he serves.

14. Thanks Octafish! - Bin Laden and Brzezinski, Hmmmmm.....

I love this photo

a great find that says it all

the fact that he was so close to Obama really made it hard for me to support Obama and it still scares me.

As a trilateralist architect, really just a front and new branding for the CFR, brzezinski has old neocon creds.

I enjoy your posts octafish! Thanks for the welcome.

5. Watching when her father was on - he was probably very authoritarian
And being European, he tend to treat women as lesser beings. When he is on the air, she is very submissive and really caters to him. I see her submitting to Scarborough and the other men in the same way. I don't think she is stupid or intellectually incurious, I think she was taught to not be smarter than the men around her - that is probably a challenge for her with the people on that show!

The most fierce I have seen Mika be was when she was advocating for her father.

8. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Zbigniew Brzezinski an asshole and idiot?
Edited on Thu May-28-09 02:47 PM by Oregone
Yes, I am aware he resurrected himself via Obama, but doesn't he have a hand in the very original creation of Al Queda (and as a side effect of the Afghan conflict and the subsequent failed state, the Taliban itself). If he, as the acting National Security Advisor, was a driving force behind Operation Cyclone and the foundation of that entire proxy war (Carter's worse mistake), does he not therefore bear some responsibility for the fallout we continue to see today (which includes terror attacks, two wars, oppression of people, and general chaos).

Did he or did he not say in 1998 Le Nouvel Observateur:

"We didn't push the Russians to intervene, but we knowingly increased the probability that they would... That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Soviets into the Afghan trap... The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter, "We now have the opportunity of giving to the Soviet Union its Vietnam War."

"What is most important to the history of the world? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?"

Isn't he just among the short sighted mental midgets that created the shitstorm that is today's world?

I am asking honestly. I cannot find the original source of the quotes, but they are referred to in many published books, articles and sites

10. Mika's fat paycheck depends on her being a nitwit
And when a person is paid a lot of money not to see something, you can bet she won't see it.
