Prop 9 - Ban Marriage
I'm just like thinking, why not go the whole hog and just ban marriage all together. No more discrimination, no more distractions. I'm sure that both gay and singles are going to feel liberated. Also less of a burden for the churches and parents. Would take care of the problem of divorce too. Hell it could even help the housing market if people don't move together at the insane rate that marriage allows for.

3. People have suggested the whole "get rid of marriage and just have civil unions" idea before
I'm skeptical of it, because not only is it unpopular with straight people, it seems like it could be very unpopular with gay people as well.

Although, I know the OP was mostly a joke.
