Would-be assassin of Gerald Ford said "no one is above the law."
When asked by Matt Lauer this morning on the TODAY show, Sarah Jane Moore, who has been released from prison after serving 32 years for the attempted assassination of Gerald Ford why she believes it is just for her to walk away from prison after serving only part of a life sentence said: "I'm going to use Obama's words; 'no one is above the law.'"

She said that the law required her to go to jail, and that the law also said that if she met the conditions for parole she could be paroled. She said that she met those conditions. She said that if someone doesn't like the law, then call your congressman and try to get the law changed.

Is Sarah Jane Moore correct in her assertions? Is it true that "no one is above the law?" Are the people who tortured prisoners at GITMO above the law? Are the people who authorized that torture above the law?

Sarah Jane Moore received justice for her actions. Will Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Gonzales, Tenet, et al receive justice for their actions? Or, will the country sweep this matter under the rug for the sake of "looking forward rather than backward?"

No one is above the law, Ms. Moore? Really?

2. Well, who can blame her for saying it? She's been
in prison for the last 3 decades.

5. That cliche and "Crime does not pay" really make me laugh
Is Cheney starving? does he have health care? How about Rove? Former heads of AIG? on and on
And some poor honest schmuck in this country who tries to work an honest job, gets screwed on pay and has his family's health removed or made way too costly.
Crime does pay and often very well if you go into the right branch.
And there are many above the law in murika today.

7. You know, that was an EXCELLENT response.
Besides, I think 32 years in jail is just about right.
