Some Jackson Hewitt offices charged with tax fraud - $70M
The DOJ is going after this one guy and his JH franchises and allege it cost the gubment a whopping 70 Mil!

Although this is bad and is a crime my first thought was or Halliburton and hundreds of other corporations offshoring their operations to keep from paying taxes. $70M is spare change compared to that.

I guess this guy didn't pony up enough to the GOP campaigns. Rookie. :banghead:

2. Jackson Hewitt sucks
They refused to give us our tax return unless we produced our drivers licenses AND social security cards. I guess they thought they were immigration cops.

3. Not trying to be an ass...
But, you're mad that they required a photo ID and a social security number card so that they could pay out the tax refund on the return processed against that social security number?

That sounds kind of reasonable. If you'd been buying groceries, and that request was made, you'd be right to be angry. This is a little different.

Just wondering if there was more to the story is all.

7. WIld.

I forgot to do my taxes, so that becomes the project this week. Since I got laid off and sold my house last year , I'm kind of afraid my tax return will be a freakin' mess.

6. can you say how? We used them, but will be using TurboTax the next time.
My *simple^ tax return cost me $200 for them to prepare. I gave them money for the woman to answer the same questions that I watched my brother to with TurboTax on his taxes.
