What does climate change have to do with Islam?

:shrug: It is my impression (and this might just be a personal observation that cannot be generalized, but still) that people who are outspoken critics of Islam are often at the same time climate change sceptics. This is something that strikes me very curious. What do the two things have to do with each other? Naively it would seem like they are completely unrelated things.

I think it would be quite interesting to study whether there actually is a statistically significant correlation between the two (meaning to study whether climate change denyers are likely to also be Islam critics). If yes, that might suggest that there is an underlying agenda that drives both. Could it be oil lobbyism? War againt muslim countries and denying climate change are lucrative for the same people. What else?
