Wow CNN just did a total hit job on the Dems
quoted Dick Morris and David Gergen on the Democrats, framed Feingold/ Redi as cutting funds rather than funding withdrawal, and said it would be the end of the Democrats...no opposing views. They said Dems need to negotiate with Bush and come up with a new bill. Fuck that. They are already giving him the money, they just want some oversight...that isn't compromise enough?????

4. CNN has clearly gone to the dark side.
Slam after slam at the Dems. Disgusting. Gergen should be ashamed of himself. These MSM types have no nuance, no intellect, no ability to think of anything even remotely complex - the right wing talking points resonate much more easily with them.

To include those *democratic strategists* from The New Way and DLC for they are nothing less than 100% devoted to the large corporations who support The Military Industrial Complex, i.e., see perpetual war. :(

Listen to any FOREIGN news sources and discover that we not only have been repeatedly lied to but are constantly being told of HISTORY, i.e., as the republicans and DLC operatives re-interpret and spin it.

8. that's the way its going to go, and it bothers me. buscho could win this.
I'm not really comfortable with our strategy here. I was with those saying no before the invasion, but "the masses" are easily duped. You know what they say, there's one born every minute. And some of them come back for seconds.

This thing is about reality for the Dems, and the troops, but about PR for bushco. Political PR has little to do with reality, but everythig to do with manipulating the short-attention span "masses." If they hear bush say Dems are trying to cut funds to the troops, and then a General say the same thing, and then watch talking heads on a "news" channel say the same thing, well, it has worked before, in the runup to the illegal war itself.

We must, absolutely and as loudly as we can, make it clear we are not cutting funds to the troops.

I think bush could would this showdown, PR-wise, which could doom us for 08.

We cannot be seen, or be labeled, as being anti-troop/anti-miliatry. If the war mongers on the right, and their good buddies in the lapdog press (that helped install bushco to begin with, and helped shove this bloody, criminal war upon the world) churn up the spin machine again, we can give it up for 08, and the near future beyond. We have to be aware and operative of this effort from the right/corp media. We are fools if we ignore this.

It has not been my pleasure to say any of this.

13. George W. Bush will never win anything again.
The "lapdog press" is playing catchup to the bloggers while its ratings and readership slides downward daily. The MSM is rendering itself irrelevant except to the lost and lonely 29% that desperately need their daily talking points.

It's pathetic that you can't see the blood on the ground.

17. He could, but a lot of people are fed up with him and his war.

We live in a conservative part of a red state. Last summer we were in a doctor's waiting room and an old man (late seventies at least, probably older) who was obviously a good ol' country boy came in and addressed everyone: "Now what do you think about this war in Iraq? I think he just started this war to show he could do what his daddy couldn't and we shouldn't be over there." Then everyone began to talk at once, agreeing with him, talking about the WMD that never existed, etc.

Back in the car, we turned to each other and said "Stick a fork in him, he's done."

You'll recall how surprised the media were by the Dems taking back Congress in November. I wasn't surprised because I think that people have finally said "To hell with this war."

Also, a few weeks ago we got a very surprising e-mail from a relative who had always bombarded us with pro-GOP mail in the past. It seems that he's seen the light at last.

and they were going on and on about how this is going to hurt the Dems, Buchanan doing that tomahawk chop he always does.

Feh! I finally changed the channel, which I should have done earlier but sometimes Scarborough says some decent stuff, and of course he comes on after Olbermann.

I haven't watched Tweety or Tucker in two months or so.

David Gergen -- Mr. Bones always says that the way he talks sound slike his name, like he's "gergening."

14. "Compromise" means doing whatever king George says.
If we continue funding this war, we'll have to share the blame for its failure. If we cut off funding and end it, the Republicans will go on an all out blitz to pin the loss on us. In years to come, they'll be saying something to the effect of "we were winning until the Dems cut off funding and forced us to retreat". According to these same Bozos, we were winning in Vietnam too and our defeat was the Dems fault for not being supportive enough after 11 long years of wasted lives and treasure. Bush is desperately looking for a scapegoat and we'll be it if we force him to withdraw.

29. There are at least 2 generations of young and impressionable voters who, in the future,
will be swayed by the political propaganda that will result from a Democratic legislature forcing a withdrawl from a war. There will be intensely polarizing fallout from such a thing. The Republicans are even at this time laying the groundwork for their future propaganda. Listen to their language regarding Speaker Pelosi in Syria for example. Look at John McCain trying to create the impression that Baghdad is somehow not the pit of hell that we all know it to be. I don't mean to suggest that we shouldn't get the fuck out of Iraq with all due haste but we need to make sure that there is not now nor will there ever be any room for doubt regarding who lost this war for America. It was the utterly incompetent prosecution of this war by an utterly incompetent administration that lead up to America's second military defeat. It was george Bush that led us into war under false pretenses and it was George Bush, the all mighty Decider, who surrounded himself by incompetent yes men (and woman) and it was George Bush who, be it through incompetence or design, made mistake after mistake after mistake in the prosecution of this war. There must be no doubt.

sources of real news around that you don't need them. Watching them only keeps them on the air. If everyone turns them off, they will die the death they deserve for prostituting the news in favor of the criminals in the White House.

20. Contrary to popular belief, CNN is not a right wing mouthpiece
They Shut John McCain down when he tried to claim that Bagdhad was anything but what it really is, dangerous as hell for example. I find them to be a truly balanced source of news for the most part because they seem to piss off Republicans with roughly the same frequency as Democrats. That's fair and balanced in my book.

33. Oh yes, the balanced strategists like DLCs Donna Brazille and David Gergen
former republican. Plus, how bout' that sexist/racist Glenn Beck on every night during prime time? But we have Cafferty! Not even close to fair and balanced. They SUCK (lie and distort) like the rest of the USA's M$M. That is, in essence, ALL of our mass media is a propaganda tool for The Unitary Executive and The Military Industrial Complex.

Please don't forget that the right wing LOATHES John McCain for crossing Dear Leader in the 2000 campaign. Further, Michael Ware was put on a few days later to make the BLANKET statement that it would be "a bloodbath" if the USA were to pull back. Even someone with the high integrity of Ware, must *play the game* at critical times in order to continue to gain access to the USA's Military in Iraq.

34. I disagree
I'm watching Lou Dobbs right now and he is including views from both sides of the political aisle in his discussion in order to arrive at an honest conclusion through a fair and balanced dialectic. Fair and balanced means including the views from both sides and leaning towards neutrality and utter impartiality and CNN does that. Most Americans aren't radical leftist or rightist. Your own political inclinations make the opposing views intolerable and make CNN seem unbalanced in the same way Bill O'reily seems "fair and balanced" to a radical right winger.

is hilarious.

For those of you who didn't see it, CNN has taken the time to paste a little logo on the corner of your teevee screen which features Pelosi, a Syrian flag, and "PELOSI IN SYRIA" "CROSSING THE LINE." (Something like that.)

This is beyond insanity.
