What Would Jesus Do, You Ask, About Torture? Apparently He Would Waterboard!
From RedState, via BalloonJuice:

http://www.balloon-juice.com/?p=21649

"It’s likely even Jesus would have OK’d water boarding if it would have saved his Mom. He would’ve done the same to save his Dad, or any one of His disciples. For that matter, He even died to save all humans.

It’s obvious He would not be happy with those who voted for the candidate who kills because it’s above his “pay grade” to know if they’re alive. Checking the Commandments, killing innocents is against the 5th. Because pro-aborts don’t know for sure life does not exist at conception, they are still willing to risk that it’s not killing."

Talk about creating God in your own image, eh?

1. Wouldn't Jesus be OK with them dying?
Knowing they are going to a 'Better Place'?

What ever Redstate was saying makes no sense.

2. Of course. Why would Jesus have a problem with someone being tortured to death?

I can't think of a reason...

8. Yeah really. Who exactly did they think was going to waterboard God?
And even if they did, wouldn't He just part the water, like He did for Moses?

9. A commenter at Balloon Juice pointed out the tortured (no pun intended) logic
From the referenced RedState diarist:

"It’s likely even Jesus would have OK’d water boarding if it would have saved his Mom. He would’ve done the same to save his Dad, or any one of His disciples. For that matter, He even died to save all humans."

The Balloon Juice commenter (Bill E Pilgrim) pointed out that the diarist is arguing that since Jesus didn't hesitate to submit to torture and death Himself to save people, He's okay with using it on others to save people.

12. From the department of...
Don't Do Me Any Fucking Favors

"It’s likely even Jesus would have OK’d water boarding if it would have saved his Mom. He would’ve done the same to save his Dad, or any one of His disciples. For that matter, He even died to save all humans.

My answer to that is, I didn't tell Jesus to die for me. He didn't ask if I wanted him to. If he had, I'd have said, "Don't bother on my account".

I always wonder why these fruitcakes think any of it makes sense. Nothing like guilt-tripping people, huh? "Look at what I sacrificed for you even though you didn't have a choice. Now you owe me big time".

waaaaayyyy fucked in the head

15. WWJD? Matthew 5:39
But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

And then there's Luke 6:29

If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic.

16. as far as i know, jesus WAS tortured. and he was the one who said
'turn the other cheek' though, we only pay attention to the parts we want to i guess. that's what i rememember. and he said as they put him on the cross...forgive them for they know not what they do. so.... assuming what i remember being taught about jesus, that it is true.... i cannot think that he would think torture ok.
