war

War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again, y'all

War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

Ohhh, war, I despise
Because it means destruction
Of innocent lives

War means tears
To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
And lose their lives

I said, war, huh
Good God, y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing
But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Ooooh, war
It's an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction then destruction
Who wants to die
Aaaaah, war-huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
War, huh
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y'all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, it's got one friend
That's the undertaker
Ooooh, war, has shattered
Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
War can't give life
It can only take it away

Ooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there's got to be a better way

Ooooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it

War, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Stand up and shout it
Nothing

1. K&R!
War is waged by a handful of people who never have to fight it.

2. Yes. No matter how many "Band(s) of Brothers" are created on our battlefields, no matter how many
men find a genuine reason for existence by experiencing death and destruction:

WAR IS GOOD FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!

4. I respect genuine human commitments, but I wish some people would figure out how to feel that way
without engaging in the pure evil of "Preventative" Wars of Choice and Proxy Wars.

5. We have an unofficial fourth branch of government- the military.
I was going to post a new thread on how the power wielded by the military is nearly absolute. No one dare touch them. They are a collection of corporations that run rampant over the environment and people of the world, without so much as having to answer to anyone.

In absolute terms this is not really true. But it is true. The reality is we have an economy that depends upon military manufacturing and eventually the use of the goods produced, from tires to rations to research.

But I decided to tack it on to your post. And I decided there's little point in mentioning this aspect of our society since until we all decide we've had enough, it will remain. And between needing our jobs, and being convinced that we need a military, we'll just stumble on and suffer like the drunks we are.

6. Well Said!
Nearly 50% of OUR revenues for decades.

Absolutely BLIND worship from the man on the street. Intra-generational and intra-cultural OPPRESSION. I know of more than just a few military who lecture the rest of us about the virtues of obedience to the Corporate State and the evils of any form of Socialism that protects Jobs & Benefits (!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Trans-National Corporate Socialism, MILITARY is thy name, "Oh say, can you Xe . . . ?"
