Clinton folks are getting about uppity and arrogant about Obama

DERRY, N.H. (AP) -- Awash in record-breaking cash, the 2008 presidential race entered an important new phase Tuesday as rattled front-runners and hard-charging challengers reassessed their strategies and standing in a reshuffled field.

Aides to Democratic Sen. Barack Obama were still tallying receipts but said he would report at least $20 million raised since Jan. 1. Fear swept the once-confident campaign of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton: Obama could top her $26 million haul and strip her of the front-runner's mantle.

A top Clinton fundraiser took a jab at the rival. Obama "doesn't have the sustainability and doesn't have the ability to raise what the Clintons are able to raise," said John Catsimatidis. "Regardless of what he reports, at the end of the day, the Clintons get the nomination."

But only one Clinton can get nominated - and only if she stays atop a crowded Democratic field. Her husband, former President Clinton, threw his considerable might behind her desperate drive for cash before Saturday's reporting deadline.

1. this is the AP?
"Fear swept the once-confident campaign" "A top Clinton fundraiser took a jab" (note, not a Clinton spokesperson, but a person who gave money to her campaign) "her desperate drive for cash"

how about a little objectivity, AP? or is this an Op-Ed piece?

2. What the fuck
who cares whatever Corporate-crat gets elected next. Our system of government is based on money and the people who have it. Obama, Clinton, even Edwards, maybe, it doesn't make a goddamned difference. We're fucked.

We have turned it all over and rolled on our backs. We should all be out in the streets demanding a living wage. Every fucking idiot IT worker in the country, including me, is at fault. We didn't pay any attention when we had the upper hand and now we're just fucked over for teens in Bangalore.

5. With those kinds of fundraising "friends," who needs enemies?
Americans resent nothing more than arrogance.

7. Just a note, the AP headline is: Record Cash Shakes Up Presidential Field
And seems to be a broad overview of fund raising among '08's possible candidates, Democratic and Repub.

9. This sentance sums up everything that is wrong with
American Politics:

"Fear swept the once-confident campaign of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton: Obama could top her $26 million haul and strip her of the front-runner's mantle."

So what makes a person a front runner in the bid for the Presidential nomination? Not who they are, or what they stand for but how much money they have in the coffers. Pathetic.

13. Well, money is given by supporters
So, the more supporters you have, the more money you get.

14. Not exactly true... Big donations are from corporations
looking for favors, you don't raise 20 million by taking all small donations. Campaigns should be publicly financed.

11. "At the end of the day
the Clinton's get the nomination." In other words, fuck the voters, we have decided. What the fuck? This made my blood boil. I suppose if they can't BUY the fucking votes, they will steal them.

I'm sure Hill and Bill have been taking notes from the Bush camp. I always hear how politically astute they are. The only thing Bush has ever done correctly is steal an election. Maybe Hill will go that route, since they know they already have the nomination.

12. Arrogance and fear... what a bad combo!
Clinton and her backers are shitting on their pants because Obama is going toe-to-toe with her and Edwards is coming back nicely...

16. Clinton support is pretty thin
It is a combination of name recognition, her being a woman and Bill's getting HIS donors to pony up.
