As informative as "Mancow" video is I fear that we will hear about a bunch of knucklehead frat boy types doing this on their own (basically to measure themselves against the likes of "Mancow") and waterboarding videos will become this year's Mentos-and-DietCoke on youtube. I hope not but it wouldn't surprise me.

14. It was a thought that entered my mind yesterday...

...what if waterboarding, now that everyone is talking about it and watching videos of it, becomes the new "mechanical bull," so to speak? Bars would advertise cash prizes to patrons who could survive five seconds of it...radio stations will give away cars...and, of course, stories will begin to appear about people accidentally killed by amateur waterboarders who had no idea how to do it without killing the person, or didn't have trained medical personnel present...

Even worse than becoming the new "mechanical bull," it could become what the dance marathon was to the Great Depression...a way for desperate people to put their lives and health seriously on the line in a sorry attempt to win some scratch.

I hope it doesn't happen. But I fear it will. Because someone, somewhere, is going to see the potential for this, if they haven't already.
