Mad World. You'll see it after the fact. I still have chills.

Adam Lambert: Dude, I'm straight to a fault. But tonight, I'm digging you, feeling you, and I stood when you were done singing and clapped. My own personal standing ovation. For you.

You Go Guy!

Sadly though, I won't be voting. I refuse to give my money away to phone companies in that fashion. Cut an album (aging myself huh) though and I'll be buying it the day it's released.

Damn.

Edited to Add: I even turned away from the Dodger game (which they were winning, by the way) to watch your performance.

You Fucking Rock.

5. I'm an old rock and roller. It's the second time I've ever heard the song.
Both times performed by Adam Lambert. I'm likin' me some Adam.

16. That version makes me want to jump in my Tahoe, drive to my daughter's house, and tell her
that every bad thing she's been subjected to because she was born gay isn't her fault. It's theirs.

Adam Lambert gave me chills, Gary Jules made me cry.

I need to call my daughter and tell her once again how much I love her.

Thanks greyl. I owe ya.

I had been trying to find out who did that version of "Mad World." It was used as the soundtrack for the Gears of War video game commercial.

Thanks.

6. Sounds a lot like the Gary Jules version from Donnie Darko.
People only familiar with the Tears for Fears version are probably overly impressed.
It was good, just still very derivative.

If not, then we would have missed a Shooting Star.

Adam Lambert. I'm lovin' me some.

17. It did take AI for Adam to be discovered.
I totally love him too. He is who he is, he is unique. My husband and I loved the second bluesy song.
We did NOT like Kara's song much though. My husband cracks me up, he can't stand her.
Kris did a good job as well, his first song was very good. That last song just seemed to make both guys sound pitchy and had a strange beginning.
We did our part and texted for Adam. :)

but it's all the stuff leading up to it that makes me want to drive an icepick in my ear. Including Simon the asshole and the deliberate inclusion of people who CAN'T sing to give him people to blow his nose on.

21. I won't lose sleep over it either. In fact, my Fiance hates me for falling asleep two minutes
after laying my cheek on my pillow. I tell her it's because I have a clear mind, she says it's because I don't CARE about things.

Either way, I sleep well, and wake up with a smile.

Edited on Wed May-20-09 01:24 AM by iamthebandfanman
and i was a big junkie of the original Real World and Road Rules (the first 3-4 seasons of each)...

but the genre quickly realised they could use scripts and prompting to do things and it went down hill fast...

now i would rather pull out a toenail than watch any show with the tag 'reality', cause its never really real.

even with American Idol, it clearly states in the show that PRODUCERS on the show get the final say and that viewers votes arent the ultimate decider.

Adam is the first contestant that I might actually have a little case for. Love the innovation, love the screaming (oh, I dunno, something about Robert Plant and Aerosmith and the like...oh, and Elvis and Sam Cooke and...Freddy Mercury and somehow it all fits together.) love Mad World! MAD Skills.

33. There's just no comparison between Adam and Kris
Kris is a cute kid with a nice voice, but it's just ... average. I mean, he sings well, no doubt, but he doesn't have any ooomph.

Now Adam, he's got the voice and the ooomph.

Too bad all the fundies will be out in force voting against Adam! It will be a damn shame if he loses, although his career is going to take off no matter what, but it's repulsive when people vote en masse *against* someone for such stooopid reasons.

I have much better taste in music than anything American Idol and its flavor of the month could ever show me.

Mass-produced flash in the pan shit; I do not need any of that shoved down my throat. I have heard the Gary Jules and Tears for Fears versions of this song and they are vastly superior.
