Bush kept us safe for eight years.
So says a C-Span caller. Is this going to be the new lying point from the right?

They are working very hard to get the 911 attack on the Clinton watch.

2. And over the same period, Godzilla did not rampage through New York City.
Edited on Mon May-18-09 09:18 AM by saltpoint
So if you don't count the nearly 4000 people killed in the 9/11 attacks and DO count the millions saved from Godzilla, you're left to conclude that Dubya was a magnificent leader.

Quite a guy, that George W. Bush.

3. It's funny how ever time one of them says that, they fail to mention
that 9/11 took place on their watch.

7. So seven years tops.
Not including Iraq, the return of the Taliban, the increase in Iranian influence and power, attacks on out allies, the wrecking of our military and the tanking of our economy and the loss of a major U.S. city. So, yeah, except for that, we've been quite safe.

4. Except for the thousands of civilians who died on American soil...
...and the thousands of soldiers who died for no tactical advantage in Iraq.

5. He STOLE Our Rights
The 8-year nightmare known as the evil Bush/Cheney regime tortured people and STOLE our rights from us.

They snooped into what books we borrowed from libraries! They tapped our phone calls!

For eight years we lived in a police state where those who dissented faced merciless intimidation.

"Kept us safe", my foot!

9. You beat me to it!
I've always heard it, "Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how'd you like the play?"

If you take out that one day in Sept. of 2001 and the a few days during the anthrax attacks, yeah, pretty good record.

These people are deluded.

15. Well, he did keep us safe from a lot of things including
Hope
Health care
equality
birth control
secure telephone conservations
water bottles on airplanes
separation of church and state
abolishing torture
respect in the rest of the world
pictures of our fallen soldiers returning home
limiting deficits

and a few thousand similar things. But most important he lived through his term and protected us from Chaney.

16. ask them the same question about Clinton and I bet 10 out of 10 would say no!
So an attack one month in to his admin. and an attack in Yemen with one month left count, but an attack seven month in doesn't count?

Then they can go on and on about how Clinton didn't get Bin Laden. So if waterboarding works, why didn't Bush get him?
