Reid: America Cannot Afford Bush Strategy Any Longer

WASHINGTON, April 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Senate Majority Leader
Harry Reid, released the following statement today after comments made by
President Bush at the White House:

The President today asked the American people to trust him as he
continues to follow the same failed strategy that has drawn our troops
further into an intractable civil war. The President's policies have failed
and his escalation endangers our troops and hurts our national security.
Neither our troops nor the American people can afford this strategy any
longer.

Democrats will send President Bush a bill that gives our troops the
resources they need and a strategy in Iraq worthy of their sacrifices. If
the President vetoes this bill he will have delayed funding for troops and
kept in place his strategy for failure.

10. We haven't got enough, obviously.
Yesterday, a guy with a W'04 sticker STILL on the rear window of his car had the balls to park right next to my car with all the liberal propaganda on its rear bumper. I mean, some people will not learn....

20. Dead-enders
Edited on Tue Apr-03-07 04:31 PM by beltanefauve
I went to a candlelight vigil on the anniversary of the invasion which was also attended by counter-protesters. They kept chanting things like, "Let the troops complete The Mission", "Victory in Iraq" and, "Always remember 9-11." What "The Mission" is at this point (in their minds) I have no idea. I have no idea what "victory" is supposed to look like, and I'm doubtful they do either. And of course 9-11 and Iraq bear no relation to each other. What struck me most about these people is that they were ANGRY. Really, really angry. Angry like *. I'm no psychologist, but I believe the anger I saw there is a manifestation of denial. And fear.

24. I'm angry too
The difference is that my anger is based on a well-informed understanding of the situation.

The freeptards are angry because their beliefs are based on the propaganda spoon-fed to them by their puppet-masters.

2. Reid and others: Easier and more powerful to make the case of failure in Iraq if
you talk about WH failure and misinformation across the board (Katrina, Reed, environment, Israel/Palestine, medicare, education, etc etc).... Stop addressing each isolated issue on its own. I hope that's coming soon. I want to hear one of our electeds say that we simply don't trust this government to do anything right in any policy area and the sooner they're gone the better off we'll be. It's the truth and it must be said. I have a feeling the GOP is going to start saying it soon WRT Iraq and foreign policy.

Good statement otherwise.

9. "Follow me down the rabbit hole," says bush.
The man is beyond words, really. Bush hasn't wasted a moment blaming the country's woes on the Democrats, who have a 3-month edge in Congress, after six years of Bushian fuck-ups. As we all know by now, this is a Nazi propaganda technique. I'm not surprised to find Bush using it. What a despicable caricature of a human being he is. The man isn't fit to be an American. Does he think we don't see through his pathetic lies?

13. And Bush says it's "irresponsible" of Democrats....
to pursue this strategy. :eyes: No, asshole, lying your way into a war of choice to settle an old score is "irresponsible". Lying your way into a war in order to pay back your oil buddies for favors received is "irresponsible". Having caused over 3,200 American men and women to lose their lives over a pack of fucking lies is "irresponsible".

Trying to end this madness, the madness YOU caused, is the only "responsible" thing Congress has done in the past 6 years of Republican rule.

Irresponsible? :wtf: My only hope is that one day you'll know the grief and pain that thousands of American families have endured because of YOUR irresponsibility, you incurious, inbred, loathsome, dimwitted, spoiled, smug egomaniac!

on being right about anything.
Therefore, if Reid goes against Bush's wishes or Bush criticizes Reid's actions, I'd say the odds that Reid is right has got to be a lock, n'est pas?

18. No kidding....
Let's see 6 yrs, 0 hits... I'd assume that get you fired rather quickly in any other job. And these are supposed to be the CEO president cabal who wanted to run the government like a business.

No wonder they are such a hit with the fundamentalist Christian crowd. It is almost as if fact are seen as biased thus they made up their own reality.

All these assholes say that they like Bush 'cause they could go out having a beer with the guy (hahahahaha), I would like to ask them if they would like Bush to be the pitcher of their favorite baseball team?

in a corporation, we'd be the stockholders; congress the board of direct5ors, and bush the ceo. how many corporations would still have this shit-for-brains on the premises?

33. Same old tactics that got us into Iraq?
1) Make up a false crisis
2) Distort the facts
3) Do something, even if it is wrong
4) Bully anyone not in agreement
5) Blame someone else for his own mistakes

America is sick of the lies, and sick of Bush's bogus Iraq War! Congress is simply expressing the wishes of the American People.

Harry Reid said it best "The President needs to realize he is President of the United States and not King of the United States."
