"Liz" Cheney is just Dick in drag.
Holy crap, that performance on Snuffy's show was just amazing. She looks and acts EXACTLY like her father, right down to the hand gestures and tilt of the head when she's speaking in a condescending, arrogant tone (which is always). She even has his sneer going on. It's eerie! I think Dick just had the CIA do a make-over on himself so he could continue on his "I hate the President" CYA tour.

1. I was tempted
to watch since Katrina was on, but just couldn't. What a roundable....George WIll, Steve Schmitt, James Carville, Katrina, and Liz fucking Cheney.

3. It was actually a very good show for a change. Except for LizDick.
Katrina kicked ass, as usual. Even Steve Schmidt was in agreement with many of Katrina and James' points, between his expected Torture Party cheerleading. It's worth a look if you can find a re-run. I usually despise the show, but his was a good one.

9. Katrina sure did.
And I really liked that she had the last word about the bishops not speaking out against Bush's decidedly pro-death policies. I damned near jumped out of my chair and cheered.

As for Cheney -- I took whatever she had to say with a huge grain of salt/indifference. She was there only to tote Daddy's water. Any credibility she may have disappears as soon as you hear her last name. Schmidt was indeed surprising -- seemed to be just going through the motions on most GOP talking points. Made me wonder at times why in the hell he signed up with McCain.

And actually, the Roundtable was pretty interesting this morning, for a change.

Earlier, I thought Jim Webb handled himself well -- seems like George kept trying to want to play "gotcha" and Jim wasn't taking the bait.

6. She couldn't even win a real debate
The Other Side Was in the Last Throes, if You Will
Friday, May 15, 2009

We now know at least one reason former vice president Dick Cheney was taking the Acela up to New York on Monday morning: He was going to attend a debate on U.S. policy on Iran where his daughter Liz Cheney, former principal deputy assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs, was arguing for the proposition that "Diplomacy With Iran Is Going Nowhere."

The debate Tuesday night, sponsored by the Rosenkranz Foundation, included, on Cheney's side, Dan Senor, a former Hill foreign policy aide best known for having been the top spokesman for the disastrous Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad.

The opponents were former undersecretary of state R. Nicholas Burns and Kenneth M. Pollack, former director of Persian Gulf affairs at the National Security Council and a former CIA analyst on Persian Gulf matters.

A pre-debate poll of 430 audience members showed that 34 percent favored the Cheney-Senor side, 33 percent were with Burns-Pollack and 33 percent were undecided.

After the one-hour, 45-minute debate, Cheney's position was favored by 35 percent, while the Burns team rocketed to a whopping 59 percent vote and undecideds dropped to 6 percent.

An electronic voting system was used, so we don't know how Dick Cheney voted. But it seems Liz won't be called "The Great Persuader."

8. Katrina got in quite a zing.
She referred to Dick as "President Cheney" and when corrected she said something along the lines of, "Sorry, I always thought of him as president."

Yes, Noonan is a horrible thing. The very epitome of smug, unmerited condescension.

17. Noonan? She wasn't anywhere near the place, fortunately.
Where did you get "Noonan" out of "George Snuffleupagus?" Peggy wasn't on the panel, thankfully. She would have ruined an otherwise good discussion.

13. Maybe they're able to clone people and get the opposite sex now
I swear Dick is in his 8th clone body. I believe they just grow the new bodies without any brains so Dick's brain can be transplanted into the new body waiting in some walk in closet of clones. It explains why sometimes he looks like he's dying and then suddenly he's gained weight and looks as OK as he's able to look. That's why an ambulance is always at the ready for him. Although I don't know if that's still true.
