to policies they promote in the face of GOP (and other) opposition are akin to

a football team having a one-point lead with two seconds left. They have the ball on their own one-yard line.

What do they do?

Take a knee in the endzone, give up two points, and lose the game.

But, they covered the point spread so they crow about their "victory."

They could have won the game, but dared not to take the chance on losing more decisively because

covering the spread was the goal all along. We only thought they were actually trying to win the game.

1. I feel like they are doing that re: Single payer and DOMA, DADT, and the

abortion bill. none are priorites of the WH.
