Lapdog Mika Defends Loudmouth Scarborough In Letter To NYT

To the Editor:

I was disappointed to read “Gov. Paterson’s Performance” (editorial, May 9), which characterized Joe Scarborough as a “leader in the Republican attack squad.”

My television and radio co-host has spent the last five years being equally tough on Republican and Democratic leaders in Washington. Joe was one of the first TV reporters to criticize the Bush White House during Hurricane Katrina. And while others were writing of a permanent Republican majority, Joe was predicting the collapse of the G.O.P. because of its reckless economic policies.

Joe’s evenhanded approach angers harsh ideologues on both sides. Last week, he was attacked by right-wing hosts for being too open-minded, and now by your liberal editorial page.

This liberal thinks The New York Times should follow Joe Scarborough’s example of speaking truth to power — regardless of which party is in power.

I personally have NEVER met a female liberal who's opinion changes the moment the man sitting next to her gives her a particular look. I don't know what kind of relationship those two have, but her co-dependence and need for his approval creeps me out.

First of all....the jig is up, Mika. We know that Morning Joe is a conservative talk show, that's why we complain about it every morning here and dissect the talking points. We are under NO ILLUSIONS, despite the marketing efforts of Morning Joe, that you are a liberal to Joe's conservative. Unless "Prosecutions for torture would HURT the Democrats" and "Sarah Palin was DESTROYED by ther MEDIA!" are liberal talking points. And constantly whining about the deficit, and saying things like "Interesting....lots of people were shopping. I thought the economy was supposed to be bad?!" And you were just on the cover of Newsmax, Mika. Really, we know. It's ok.

Secondly....how fucking NOBLE of Joe to notice that people in New Orleans were drowning! Other than that, in the words of Colbert to Joe Scarborough "I watched you for years, and you loved everything that cat did!" (that cat being Bush). Joe is trying to grasp onto the libertarian train to make up for his lapping up the vomit of the Bush admnistration. We have the tapes, Joe. This is all so Mika can hawk Joe's book. Yesterday, when Mika was reading the news and saying that an FBI interrogator claimed that torture never worked, Joe whined "THE FBI is just jealous of the CIA!" Seriously. And today, Mika called Monica Nevotony "Monica PELOSI!!!!" (yes, as an insult) and "BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT MONICA WILL SAY NEXT! GET IT! LIKE PELOSI!" What a crock letter to the editor.

When is MSNBC going to get rid of Joe Scarborough? Do we have to start a campaign to get rid of him? We need MSNBC to be MSNBC all day and have a progressive voice driving the discussion.
