Obama... attacked hard from the left AND the right... but guess what:
He's holding the center... where most Americans are.

Gallup: 64% approve, 28% disapprove

http://www.gallup.com/poll/113980/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Job-Approval.aspx

Fox News: 60% approve, 30% disapprove

http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/051409_release_web.pdf

The Fox poll is actually VERY good when you look at the internals. 2010 looks like another good year for Dems.

1. And that's all that matters.
Poll numbers, not the fact that he continually flip-flops on the very issues that got him elected.

3. Except that he hasn't.

His health care plan is exactly what he campaigned on.

As is his budget.

As is his Afghanistan and Iraq policy.

The problem is... you "heard" something different than what he was saying.

5. Then you are not listening.
"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Obama is planning on Friday to resume the Bush administration's controversial military commission system for some Guantanamo detainees -- which he suspended in his first week in office -- according to three administration officials."

11. Read closer.

"The administration officials stressed that the updated system will include expanded due-process rights for the suspects, which administration officials note is consistent with what Obama pushed for as a senator in 2006 in order to improve upon the widely criticized approach created by the Bush administration."

12. CNN likes to put the worst spin on things that they possibly can. Worth keeping that in mind.

Especially in their headlines. See the post above about due process.

17. Where can I get a copy of this health care plan that is exactly the same?
I wasn't aware that the Senate or the Congress had written it yet? please give me a link so I can compare it to what Obama campaigned on.

4. Can't we just throw "flip-flop" under the bus?
And while we are at it can't we just throw "under the bus" under the bus?

"Flip flop" is way to tainted by the mindless Republican use of the term. I just can't take the charge seriously.

8. Extreme RIght thinks he is a Socialist. Extreme Left is upset that he isn't a Socialist
He isn't particulary a "Centrist." Some of his policies are clearly left of center.

People who want DADT overturned, the torture photos no longer suppressed, and single-payer healthcare?

23. I'm willing to bet most people who use the terms "far left" or "extreme left"...
...wouldn't know one if it bit them on the ass. It's a just a nebulous boogey man to most of them. They need to get out more, because I'm about as far left as one can get while still being a Democrat, and I ain't even close to the true far left.

21. Well...
It does no good to shake things up if in four years the people elect someone else who is middle of the road like them, and that person undoes all that shaking up.

22. Over 60% of Americans believe Intelligent Design should be taught in science class.
the hard right thinking evolution shouldn't be taught and the "centrists" believe that both should be taught in science class to make everyone happy so that kids have a "choice".

And over 60% of Americans are dead wrong.

If 60% of Americans approve of bailing out banks with taxpayer money, continuing torture, and continuing a completely meaningless war for profit against a country that never did a damn thing to the US or even threatened to, then those people are wrong. Just like they're wrong about same-sex marriage. Just like they were wrong when they voted for Bush.

Democracy is more than just the tyranny of the majority--especially when the majority is brainwashed by corporate propaganda.
