Image from last nights Daily Show regarding the release of the torture photos in contradiction to candidate Obama's assurance of transparency. It's possible he's 'playing the long game', and wants courts to force him to release the photos to establish a certain legal footing.

Absolutely. What they don't like is having to waste so much of their time trying to maintain the ruse, the illusion of transparency and democracy in the face of the minor percentage of the populace who know better, realize it, and call them on it.
