The fear in his voice was so loud it was like stereo. His lying came at both ears and everybody heard it. He was cooked. By saying he wasn't, everybody now knew he was a crook.

It was wonderful to experience. You felt a sudden oneness with your fellow Americans. Everybody was so sick of Nixon you were for once all on the same page.
