How the State of California, as well as other MMJ States, can profit from MMJ sales

The states that have legal Medical Marijuana, yet still criminalize possession by others, should look into opening State run MMJ cooperatives in which they sell the marijuana seized from illegal sources. Of course, I think marijuana should just be legalized and be done with it, but that's a different story. The State could be making money off of all that seized pot, instead of putting it in an incinerator. They could also make another step forward by providing some of this seized marijuana to indigent patients for free. It sounds like a win-win proposition to me... what do you think?

Back in the 70's, the Dade County (Miami, Fla) cops decided to incinerate (via bonfire) a shit-load of marijuana in an open field near a rockpit right down the street from my grandmother's house...

They didn't anticipate all the people getting high on the smoke in the wind, or the ones trying to run in and grab themselves some of that weed.
