and given that General Steel also promotes on liberal shows as well as a few of them... well I know that they are promoting product by buying in many markets.

Now in an ideal world they should not... but we live in a consumer society...

why not?

they have a politically neutral product that has appeal to certain consumers, regardless of their political views.
why "shouldn't" they be able to appeal to as large a market as possible?

For those of us in SoCal, you might add Larry Miller's Sit'nSleep.

I complained to them back in the '90's about their ads on Limbaugh's show. Not that it made any difference.

12. I once ate at Red Lobster monthly.......
...but that changed a few years ago when I found out they were a Limbaugh sponsor. I wrote them a really nasty letter and never went back. I now buy my lobster at Sam's Club and cook it myself. It's much better than they can cook it, and much, much cheaper!
And, I also buy whole tenderloins at Sam's and cut my own steaks. We rarely eat out. Living rurally, it's too far to the restaurant and I hate paying for inferior food. I can eat much better at home, for less.

I have never patronized any of these other establishments, and now, never will! However, if Sam's Club goes on the list, I'm screwed!

21. More effective way:
Just don't listen to these guys and tell your friends not to.

I don't know anyone lately who is filling out Arbitron diaries or got one of those meters they have now... but radio stations can only command advertising dollars based on the size of their audience. If no-one's listening to these blowhards then the radio stations cannot command the advertising dollars and will soon look to find a more popular program that *is* garnering audience.

Oreck and Select Comfort/Sleep Number advertise on liberal radio too, they appear not to care about the politics of the show they're advertising on.

The company I work for though won't be advertising on political radio any time soon anyway. Sorry because of policy I can't name that company.

22. definitely avoid Rock Star energy drinks
which are the family business of radio fascist Michael Savage(Michael Alan Weiner), who was recently declared persona non grata in the UK. Rock Star is marketed by his son, the CEO, but Michael formulated the drink, drawing on his education as an "ethnobotanist". His wife Janet is the CFO which handles the finances of the energy drink.

Pure poison indeed!

27. GM got really nasty with me when I emailed and asked them
If they were going to be playing "Barack the Magic Negro" in their showrooms..

First they said that they didn't endorse the views of Limbaugh and then when I said that wasn't my question and asked them to actually answer they went to the trouble of doing a search on my email addy and came back at me with some personal information that I didn't disclose in my email.

I will *never* *ever* buy a GM product again.

29. I bought a tempurpedic mattress
last summer and it has totally cured a back problem I've had for thirty-five years. The past five years I would wake up every single morning in extreme pain. No longer. It's as if I never hurt my back in the first place.

I guess I'm glad I didn't see this list a year ago.

37. Thats funny.
I just bought a Tempurpedic generic work-alike mattress a couple months ago that's supposed to be exactly the same as the "real deal" and have been waking up with lower-back aches recently (in the last couple weeks or so) but NOT when I sleep on a regular bed. You mileage may vary, I guess.

32. What about Coke and Chiquita Banana? They assassinate union organizers in Latin America.
You'd have to give up Odwalla (Coke) and Minute Maid (Coke) and a bunch of other stuff, though.

Almost ALL clothing is made in sweat shops (even some with Made in the USA on the label.)

Taco Bell and BK used to, and Chipotle STILL buys tomatoes from the Immolakee work camp (in the US) where laborers--mostly immigrants and some abducted homeless persons--must pick over a ton of tomatoes to earn $50. The camp is surrounded by barbed wire and workers are indebted to the "company store" and unable to leave. For example, the "company" provides them the use of a filthy single wide trailer for $1200 a month.

Boycotting corporations is a dizzying endeavor. On top of everything, they all invest heavily in one another. This is why I try to buy union made, but beyond that, I always keep in mind that the only way to teach corporations is the mass strike. Our power is in our abilities, in our labor, not in our consumption.

42. If you're boycotting Red Lobster, put Olive Garden on your list too
Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, and a couple of other chains are all owned by the same management group, Darden Restaraunts. If you want to boycott them, make sure you're boycotting the entire company, and not just one wing of it.
