Entertainment Tonight: Palin to release her memoirs, you betcha!
Edited on Tue May-12-09 06:23 PM by Bluebear
A memoir from Sarah Palin is on the way, and in it the Alaska governor and former vice-presidential candidate will reportedly address some of the controversies surrounding herself and her family.

Palin has signed on with HarperCollins to publish a memoir about her personal life and political career, says the Associated Press. The tome will span her Alaskan childhood through last year's vice-presidential campaign and beyond, and will touch upon her various beliefs, family life and even her teenage daughter Bristol's pregnancy.

Palin tells the AP of her as-yet-untitled memoir: "In fairness to my family, this is going be a good opportunity for them, too, because there have been so many misperceptions out there about who we are and what we believe in, and I'm excited to get to put my journalism degree to work and tell my story as it relates to my family."

The book is due to out in spring 2010, around the time Palin becomes eligible for reelection as Alaska governor.

2. No. No she doesn't.
And evidently Alaska is happy to pay her for doing so. It's a mystery, ain't it?

4. She is actually violating the executive ethics law by doing this.
Sec. 39.52.120. Misuse of official position.
(a) A public officer may not use, or attempt to use, an official position for personal gain,
and may not intentionally secure or grant unwarranted benefits or treatment for any person.
(b) A public officer may not
(1) seek other employment or contracts through the use or attempted use of official
position;
(2) accept, receive, or solicit compensation for the performance of official duties or
responsibilities from a person other than the state;
(3) use state time, property, equipment, or other facilities to benefit personal or financial
interests;
(4) take or withhold official action in order to affect a matter in which the public officer
has a personal or financial interest;
(5) attempt to benefit a personal or financial interest through coercion of a subordinate or
require another public officer to perform services for the private benefit of the public officer at
any time;

But 14 ethics complaints haven't stopped her yet.

7. Wow. That seems pretty clear.
But I suppose that Sec. 39.52.120 is one of the most ignored parts of Alaskan law.

8. Alaskans are probably happy
she's busy doing crap like "writting" gives her less time to foul up the state. Also keeping her inside gives the moose and wildlife a well needed break from her gunfire.

3.  Palin : "It will be nice to put my journalism degree to work on this"
:puke: :eyes: :rofl:

Ya mean that degree that took you six years at six different colleges to get?

Notice, she REFUSES to tell how much $$ she gets out of it..funny, wasn't she all about transparency not too long ago?? Now she won't release the $ info til she legally has to do so in March 2010.

I'm thinking Levi ought to publish a book...and have it published riiiggghhht around the time Palin puts her so called memoirs out.

My bet: She is putting out her book (in "spring 2010", per article), not running for another term as AK gov, says she wants to spend more time with her family (wink, wink), and then tries to run for Prez in 2012.

Palin and HarperCollins would not say how much she was being paid. Asked why, the former Republican nominee for vice president said she didn't want to distract from the substance of the book.
(snip)

"It will be nice to put my journalism degree to work on this and get to tell my story, Alaska's story. There have been so many unauthorized books and publications that have spoken to somebody else's opinion of who I am, what my family represents and what Alaska is all about," she said.

(snip)

HarperCollins said the book will recount her time as mayor of Wasilla, as the first female governor of Alaska and her rise to the national stage during last year's presidential campaign.

Palin will also share insights on challenges including being a working mother with a son serving in Iraq, another son with Down syndrome and a teenage daughter who went through an unplanned pregnancy, the publisher said.

5. "there have been so many misperceptions...
...out there about who we are and what we believe in..."

You know, one thing that I've learned in this life, is that people simply cannot be objective about themselves.
We all need the mirror of what other people say and think about us to even begin to understand ourselves.
I've found that people who believe that there are "misperceptions" about what others think of them, tend to be totally deluded.

I really don't care what kind of bullshit Sarah Palin has to say about herself and her family.
Except, maybe, for the entertainment value...

6. It will be in pamphlet form
"Everyone told me how cute I was. Then I got knocked up a bunch of times. Then everyone told me how cute I was. I got to run for vice-president. Do you know everyone thinks I'm so darn cute?"
