The cowards on MSNBC sucking up to Liz Cheney!
Edited on Tue May-12-09 07:40 AM by glarius
I was completely disgusted listening to ALL of them holding back from criticizing Liz Cheney! Especially at the end when it was said that "her father must be very proud of her!"....Uuugh....Now Andrea Mitchell is saying she thinks Dick Cheney is really sincere in his worry about what Obama is doing!....What bullshit! He's scared of being charged with war crimes and is out there trying to save his own skin and justify what he has done!

I wish Liz would let Keith Olbermann have a crack at her and her lies!

1. While it is disappointing, did you ever stop think, they may be believe
what they are saying to Liz.

Polls indicate slightly more rank and file Americans accept waterboarding
under some circumstances.

What I am saying this issue is not cut and dry. There are nuances.

I do not see them as sucking up--trying to be civil.

2. But I have heard them all at one time or another say they

think waterboarding is torture....Especially the bald one (his name escapes me at the moment), who is sitting next to Willy Geist....He has been adamant in his criticism of waterboarding!

4. I've seen 2-3 of those polls and they don't use the term "waterboarding". They all say
"enhanced interrogation methods".

5. All thru my life I have seen this phenomenon. Lip service to the Constitution but
throw it under the bus if we get scared. Americans always seem to do this, no matter what.

My question these days is: why have a constitution if we want to give it up so easily?

6. What polls?? What rank and file??
I for one am part of the "rank and file" that happens to believe that water boarding, under any circumstances is wrong, and a war crime,, IT IS cut and dried, it is a war crime.. and Dick Cheney's daughter cannot change that period..

9. Those Polls are manufactured. Much depends on the way questions are asked.
I'm sickened that Our Nation is now condoning torture because The M$M tells us so. :puke:

We have LOST our National Soul as a Humane Country that most everyone would love to immigrate to.

I'm disgusted with how easily led the PsyOps M$M can *manufacture consent.*

Perhaps, just perhaps, if things get bad enough, we may ALL wake up from our complacency comas. :(

10. And that makes it okay?
"Polls indicate slightly more rank and file Americans accept waterboarding
under some circumstances."

Kind of like rank and file Germans who looked the other way when neighbors disappeared in the night never to return.

Kind of like the rank and file Americans who saw nothing wrong with another human being treated as property.

Kind of like the rank and file Americans who thought that Wounded Knee and Sand Creek wasn't a big deal.

12. Are those polls so super secret that they can not be named?
And the results can not be quoted? There are no nuances. The US has prosecuted people for water boarding both during wartime and peacetime, both enemy military and our own. The Reagan administration prosecuted a Sheriff in Texas and his deputies for water boarding suspects. The United States has executed people for water boarding.
It is a long decided issue, with decades of legal precedent.

24. slightly more
of what. Your post seems to imply that a lot of rank and file Americans accept waterboarding. Is there any evidence that that is so?

Put her up against Lawrence O'Donnell. He won't let her talk over him non-stop as she did this morning on that RNC morning show.

14. Another Truckload Of Astroturf Delivered...
The cheney cabal has to keep up this confusion...keep making noise...get their lackeys out there to spin and keep people confused. A recent poll showed that there are still 50% or so who think torture was justified (just like they believed Iraq was tied to 9/11) and the moment the cheneys stop their jabbering the sooner the real truth cuts through. The battle here is for that middle 10-15% that now isn't ready to hang these bastards...it's their best hope.

This also points that cheney knows there's more bad to come. He's had to get out front and throw anyone and everyone under the bus cause more and more of the dirty secrets of his regime are sure to come out. The last remaining pieces of his deck of cards in Iraq will collapse and he's already out front in the "who lost Iraq" game that is sure to follow.

The cheneys know who to play...and play them well. It was exposed during the Plame trial and I wouldn't be surprised that next to the file crashcart had in his office on torture, there were blackmail files on many of the beltway stenographers. They pick their spots with those they know they can steamroll and create sound bites that are astroturfed onto hate radio and becomes part of the "mainstream" coverage.

Today's load has just been dumped.
