Could we please have a "Confession" Thread or Forum where we can go to confess

if we were just plain wrong about having strong feelings here at DU. Just so that we could admit we were dead wrong about something about which we felt strong conviction, get some kind of forgiveness, put it on record, and then move on.

I know it's silly, but I really feel sometimes like I need to make amends for believing something here that turned out to be wrong.

I like DU so much that it actually does care, and it does hurt, sometimes, to be very wrong about something. I know I am losing the respect of people whose opinions mean a lot to me.

6. Don't tell me you hate Star Trek too.
Seriously, I'm sure its fine. You are balanced out by several hundred people here who could really not give a shit about anyone's feelings at all. I'm sure the people who know you here understand.

9. I think that's a neat idea
Our abilities to admit mistakes and to disagree with each other are what help us keep open minds instead of getting locked into indefensible positions. Having a place to be comfortable saying "my bad" would make that kind of thing even easier.
