Breaking: U.S. service member kills 4 fellow troops in Iraq, kills self

BAGHDAD - A U.S. service member opened fire on fellow members of the military, killing four and wounding several others, at the main U.S. base in Baghdad, officials told NBC News on Monday.

NBC's Jim Miklaszewski reported the assailant took his own life after the violent outburst. The attacker was described as a "stressed out" U.S. soldier.

The military said in a statement that the shooting occurred about 2 p.m. at Camp Liberty near Baghdad International Airport.

The toll was the highest for U.S. personnel in a single attack since April 10, when a suicide truck driver killed five American soldiers with a blast near a police headquarters in the northern city of Mosul.

8. Guess You Can Call Me "Just Plain Cynical" Plus I Suppose I Shouldn't Really
post here much anymore, but for me it's beginning to look like "same song, different dance."

Issues that are important to me don't seem to be gaining much traction with the new Congress or Obama Administration. I realize that many of these issues are those that Congress should be taking up, but a strong voice from the WH could be beneficial by giving them a "front & center" PUSH!

I try not to concern myself about this much anymore and I do have a LOT work to do around the house and with landscaping outside. However, I have always wanted to be part of the political scene, but really don't think that our Democratic Party is such a "big tent" anymore, and then there's the fracture of the Blue Dogs and the other Democrats.

While Democrats are enjoying a influx of new member, or perhaps have garnered the attention of many Independents, they seem not to be listening or have their own agenda at work leaving "we the people" just outside of the loop again. I "hear" lots of this and that and maybe I should just wait another year to see what really happens, but for now I'm still worried about what is REALLY going to happen.

Personally, I think there will be a lot revealed that may essentially show just how many Democrats were in bed with BUSHCO! It makes it all the more disgusting and hurtful if this actually comes to light. We already have been hearing about Pelosi and Harmon, and despite protestations, to me it's just how politicians twist facts to cover their ass. Then you have DIFI and the rest of the DLC and you have a heap of contradictions and a message that is really confusing. Democrats REALLY need to find some cohesion and remember WHY they got elected.

I'm sure many will say that "they" are only protecting the districts they got elected from, but given that, then tell me why even those go against the grain from people in their districts? It's all so very... I need to be elected again!"
