It was a touchy feely oh aren't those kids cute and their mother so brave kind of story.

Struck me as a huge invasion of privacy. Why not just arrange the phone call without airing it live?

Also can't help but remember how CNN cheered bush and the neocons on 6 years ago when they started this occupation of Iraq. If they wanted to help, they would be a bit more fair in how they cover the occupation.

Some librul media, eh?

1. i hate those things ...
Many times, they're exploiting the feelings of these families for entertainment value. it's sick and disgusting. i agree, they should keep these family meetings private.

2. Invasive, yes.
But these stories do serve the purpose of reminding Americans that there are many servicemembers separated from their families. When Georgie's wars started, there was a large outcry to "support our troops." They has died down yet there are still thousands stationed overseas, in war zones, that are largely forgotten.

My nephew leaves for Afghanistan in about 3 weeks. Suddenly this issue has real meaning for me and I fully admit, I've been indifferent about the men and women overseas until now. I'm scared shitless for him.

3. I am not indifferent about the troops
I just question CNN's judgment and I feel like they are exploiting this family for ratings.
