1. I'd go see it
Spock getting high and riding a cougar through the woods would be classic.

4. Well, you're partially right:
http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/03/31/star-trek-sequel-is-coming-wrath-to-be-determined/

More than a month before Paramount’s new “Star Trek” movie goes to theaters, boldly or otherwise, the studio has already signed up the creative team behind it to prepare a sequel, Variety reported. The coming “Star Trek” film, directed by J.J. Abrams (“Lost,” “Alias”) and scheduled to open on May 8, returns to the earliest adventures of Kirk, Spock and McCoy as young recruits of the Starfleet Academy. That film is written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (“Fringe,” “Transformers”), and produced by Damon Lindelof, a creator and executive producer of “Lost;” all will be writing and producing the planned sequel. Mr. Abrams and his producing partner, Bryan Burk, will also be producing, but no director has been announced. The “Star Trek” sequel, the 12th entry in the film franchise, is planned for a summer 2011 release.
