Steele Leaves Everyone Speechless (Again)

RNC Chairman Michael Steele hosted a radio show this morning and discussed President Obama's forthcoming pick of a Supreme Court nominee:

"Good morning y'all, we're back in the house. We're talking a little bit of Constitution and a little bit Supreme Court. And a whole lot of saving America's judicial system and saving our rights as citizens and not having empathetic judges decide cases, but rather judges who are actually understanding the rule of law and what the Constitution and those laws are all about. And how to apply the facts to the law and the law to the facts. And adjudicate my case. I don't need some judge sitting up there feeling bad for my opponent because of their life circumstances or their condition. And short changing me and my opportunity to get fair treatment under the law. Crazy nonsense empathetic. I'll give you empathy. Empathize right on your behind. Craziness."

On edit: A friend of mine from Southern California did a really funny Steele rap/hip-hop deal at a party last weekend - and he didn't even have this idiocy to base it on! Go, Tauern! Let's do another one!

11. GOOD GRIEF!
What an incoherent, agitated style this man speaks.

His language reflects profound inability to think and communicate clearly.

Steele is the perfectly appropriate spokesperson for the dying Republican Party.

Watch how he'll stick with radio and join the other rabble of right radio talk shows. . .because he's way out of his league trying to be RNC head.

17. Wow, he's morphing into President Camacho from 'Idiocracy'.

"Hey, I know everybody's shit is a little e-mo-tion-al..."- Dwayne Camacho (Professional Wrestler, Porn Star, President of the USA) in the House of Representin'.

Also, do these people have trouble with basic concepts? They're confusing empathy with sympathy. Empathy is the ability to sense another entity's state, sympathy is feeling affection for that entity. Seems like being aware of the litigant's states of mind are relevant to all sorts of judgely things.

39. He was guest-hosting for Bill Bennett.
Think about that. Bill Bennett, the guy who wrote 'The Book of Virtues' and hectored others for years on their moral failings, and then it was later found out he had a massive gambling problem. One nut filling in for another. Although, Steele is a special one. Even among pubs, someone like him doesn't come along too often.

Few vices have escaped Bennett's withering scorn. He has opined on everything from drinking to "homosexual unions" to "The Ricki Lake Show" to wife-swapping. There is one, however, that has largely escaped Bennett's wrath: gambling.

...and sources and documents provided to The Washington Monthly put his total losses at more than $8 million.

22. How does Steele feel about a party which used a law implemented
to prompt the earliest of American citizens to put their electoral college votes on the pony express in time to get to D.C. to be promptly counted? That would be the Safe Harbor law the Republicans used in the Information Age to steal an election in 2000, discounting the votes of 51 million Americans in the process.

40. Michael Steele is the poster child...
for what happens when mothers accidentally replace baby formula with lead paint. The effect lead paint has on the human brain is so clearly evident in Mr. Steele.

Please, for the sake of the children, clearly label your jars of lead paint and keep them in a locked cabinet.
