The homeland I am ashamed of.

This is the homeland where ridiculously lucky white people complain that their world is being overrun by foreigners.
This is the homeland where Vietnam draft dodgers cheer the illegal Bush wars.
This is the homeland that condones transferring wealth from one hardworking and successful individual so his offspring will never have to struggle and learn the hard lessons of thrift and empathy.
This is the homeland that listens to a media bullhorn run by corporate interests.
This is the homeland where the CIA ,the heads of banking and politics are indiscernible.
This is the homeland that turns its back on poverty, hunger and homelessness.
This is the homeland that glorifies excessive consumption.
This is the homeland that poisons its citizenry and denies their suffering.
This is the homeland that glorifies violence and discrimination.
This is the homeland of reckless military domination.
This is the homeland where division is a tool of control.

This is not the home of the free and land of the brave anymore.
Maybe it never was.
