The chain-smoking, meat-eating, non-sexually active guys who couldn't - FDR - or wouldn't - Churchill - dress themselves triumph over the sexually active, non-smoking, vegetarian who dressed himself.

2. It must rank as the century's biggest party. WWII truly was the social event of the century. Every
body was invited to participate whether they wanted to or not.

It sucked in a big way.
