Social conservatism and homophobia are threats to our national security
Lt. Dan Choi, the gay Arabic-speaking linguist dismissed from the Army National Guard under the "don't ask, don't tell" policy after coming out earlier in the spring, spoke to MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on Thursday night.

Choi said he intends to fight his discharge "tooth and nail."

Maddow also talked to Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.), who called for the Obama administration to address the issue of "don't ask, don't tell."

That's right folks, at the same time we are fighting people who speak Arabic, we are also firing people who speak Arabic because they are gay.

Who else is sensing a disconnect here?

1. Choi said "The biggest thing that I'm angry about is what it says about my unit..."
"It says that my unit suffered negative good order -- negative actions -- good order and discipline suffered. That's a big insult to my unit.

I mean, all the insult that the letter can do, to say that I'm worthy of being fired, you know, that's nothing comparing to saying that my unit is not professional enough, that my unit does not deserve to have a leader that is willing to deploy, that has skills to contribute."

2. Too bad that Huffington did not mention
the note Prez O wrote to the woman who wrote to him on this subject; he promised her that he would take up the issue, which will include going to Congress.

5. Dear Homosexual,
Thank you for your sevice, but you are still fired. I never served. One of these days we may let y'all sit in the front of the bus, but that will take a long time. Till then good luck on the job hunt. Josh DuBois says Jesus loves you.
Apathetically Yours,
Barack Obama.

3. Also has the rotten stench of racism. Most Arabic speakers aren't Waspy.
I've suspected for many years now that the gay bashing in the service is a diversionary tactic on the part of them what be in charge.

Now that Afro-Americans and women are non-PC to bash, TWBIC need replacements to blame for the troops' problems rather than their own sweet selves. Don't look here; look there.
